The Noel/Prodigy clash is recent evidence that the festival wouldn't care about making a clash that would upset a lot of the older crowd. You probably couldn't pick a better comparison actually. It's an easy choice for me as I wouldn't miss Stone Roses for anyone, but if it was anyone else it wouldn't be so easy. If it happens then its two years of fucking Chemical Brothers off in a row for me, after Glastonbury last year. Would really pain me to do it though, especially when I will see Calvin's name at the top on the Saturday and thinking what should have been.

terrible clash for most dream clash for to take all the bucket hat aggro causing arms behind the back brigade out the way.

I think we're all forgetting the shambles of the sound from the R1 this past year though imagine that ruined the chems experience.

I was about halfway back for Catfish and thought the sound was really poor. Could hear Van's voice fine but could barely make out the guitars.

Some of the other bands I saw on R1 had fine sound though like The War On Drugs and Jamie T.

That's certainly true, The War On Drugs were fantastic live with some quality musicianship.

I saw Catfish a couple of years ago at the Big Weekend in Glasgow when I didn't know them and they sounded much better than they did at T.

Judging by tv coverage there was only about 20 people watching WOD. Looked embarrassing for such a quality band and says a lot about the audience going to T these days

I was there and there were about 10 people there for The War On Drugs, and the rest were there waiting on Guetta I think. They should have been in the tent with Fatboy Slim on R1.

I saw War on Drugs two weeks before at Rock Werchter and they were fantastic. So sad to see such a small crowd two weeks later

That's the way T will stay while they book EDM Saturday night headliners on the main stage, and have David Guetta on the R1 stage every other year.

Yeah its tragic that people flock to see such absolute tripe and ignore great bands like The War On Drugs.

Saying it's every other year is actually conservative assessment. He's played three of the last four I think.

James Bay: High (playing in Newcastle that weekend, big name, might as well come north of the border.

Kodaline: Low (played after album release last year, no real reason to play again this summer)

The Lumineers: High (album coming out in April, popular band that will draw a decent crowd afternoon main stage)
