Alan_C
Just looking again at last years lineup by counting number of acts each day. Friday 2015 there was 24 acts on Main, R1 and KT in total. So far 13 have been announced for 2016. Saturday 2015 =27 acts - 2016=16 Sunday 2015=24 - 2016=15 Use that for comparison. 31 left to go if its the same.

dentalplan
I could imagine Chvrches popping up as Friday R1 headliner. I know crowie said they were Saturday and not headlining but maybe they've shuffled things as LCD aren't Saturday either.

Wouldn't be surprised if they're waiting until after Chvrches' Hydro gig in April to announce them as more standing tickets for that went on sale recently. NeverBelieve
Echo what others have said about Travis in 2013, one of the best performances I have seen at T. Due to the later timing & the rival headliners can see this being epic with the traditional T goers, buzzing at the thought of it already. I was gonna say that but I think the last R1 headliner is meant to be announced tomorrow. If they're not then I'd expect that, yeah.

Agreed. Chvrches can probably do what they like after they bailed T out last time I was there stepping in for London grammar last minute. Whatever happened to London grammar? blue6field
Personally, I think that's the strongest first announcement since 2011
Comfy Bean
Do we know for sure that disclosure are subbing the roses?

No. If Chemical Brothers were announced tomorrow for R1, you could easily see Disclosure sub them.
Etodd22
Surprised not to see twenty one pilots added. They're having a massive year so far
Alan_C
Geoff added, "The 1975 are also headlining the Radio 1 Stage on Saturday, LCD on Sunday, and another headliner will be announced tomorrow on Radio 1. Travis are headlining the King Tuts tent on Saturday, Jamie XX is headlining on Friday, and Sunday is still to be announced." Just looking at that quote again. Specifically mentions R1 headliner announced tomorrow, with KT still to be announced. If KT was to be announced tonight, he would have surely mentioned that, since it is more immediate than tomorrow's announcement. I think he's just made a balls up of positions. No that wouldn't happen. Disclosure wouldn't sub R1, and they particularly wouldn't sub a smaller act in the Chemical Brothers.
Followill
Quite a strong first announcement, looks like they are slowly trying to appeal to the older demographic again. If Bastille do turn out to somehow to be the sub on saturday (not sure who or why would they hold back as an act in that slot?) then that might just be the worst booking any festival has ever made though. A repeat act that have done nothing to justify the bump up.
harryomatic
They do have a new album due out this year, which you would imagine will get lots of radio play.

Hadn't heard it was due before the festival, that makes sense then. Can see this album waning their popularity though
harryomatic
No idea when in the year the album's due to be fair. If they want to justify a sub spot, surely they've got to try at least get a few singles out by July
dentalplan
Yeah I can't see Bastille subbing, whether it's another act added or a shuffle about or something. They're third down at Wild Life. I get the older demo thing too. I would be more interested in this one, but still not really that interested. I remember loads of DJs in the first announcement last year, and now there's just Calvin Harris, and Jamie xx maybe but he doesn't really count. nath14s
Just seen this on the event page on Calvin Harris' Facebook. Few acts on there that still haven't been announced. Alesso, Oliver Heldens, Katy B, Hannah Wants and Tiesto.

devilman
Not a bad line up I suppose. There are actually a few bands I'd go and watch. Not enough to get me back given that I've already shelled out cash for a festival in July given T's shit record since 2011 but it's a step back in the right direction for sure. I spoke too soon on the "I can't see Faithless third down" now as well because Tiesto will be King Tuts, C&S sub and Faithless third down, surely.
