I think we have had this discussion some time ago, maybe last year. The consensus seemed to be that offering rewards in the current system represented a trust risk: either the person buying the tickets needs to trust that the person wanting the tickets will reimburse them; or the person wanting the tickets needs to trust the person buying by sharing their card info.
That's why it currently works for ticket buying groups where everyone agrees to help each other out.
But wouldn't work for, say, a social media influencer and their followers.
Correct. No confirmation from the festival or See yet and there may not be.
Speculation is based on some subtle changes in the browser to server communications.
It could be in preparation for the sale or it could simply be an overall technical upgrade of the See compute infrastructure.
