How Influential is the EFestivals Community?

Plenty of post-Festival comments on the good, bad and ugly of G2015 but just how Influential is what gets posted on here?

Is the EFestivals Community seen as a good source of feedback to generate change, or are most of the changes in the long-term plan anyway?

Good question sir! Efestivals posters will never influence me not to see a band or a thing but they do sometimes influence me to see a band or a thing.

Efestivals is great. I love coming in here. Some posters I love, some I think are dicks. Some threads are great some make me cringe...

But I hope it never changes.

The festival organisers clearly arent influenced by what I say, otherwise it wouldnt have declined as much as it has.

It's a great pleasure to discuss a brilliant way of life with people who have sense and understanding. It's made me think about who I am at various times. I feel that you guys are my real mates in a way which I can't fully explain.

It's like I really know you all but I don't really.

Not for me they haven't.

That's all that matters.

They played for you too, they told me as much.

"this one's for Placid" they said, before perfoming your favourite song of theirs.  the sun shone and everybody danced, but nobody could escape the feeling that there was one person missing from the field that day.

This is more gutting than missing the Chems for The Who this year.

fairly sure they dedicated two songs to Placid - the second they offered a chance for him to join them on stage as they had SOAD in the wings to join in on a supergroup number - however Placid never showed and SOAD never joined them on stage.

and on such fine whimsy are dreams shattered.

it's amazing to think what could have been.

Just after he failed to turn up they mentioned how gutted they were that Placid wasn't there to join them on stage so put 2 and 2 together and realised that there music just wasn't appealing to the true fans like Placid anymore and so they decided to go for a change in direction on the new album. They then went on to explain how the new album would be a joint endeavor by Tool and Catfish and the Bottlemen and is influenced heavily by the 'fucking fantastic' collaboration between Metallica and Lou Reed

I know that at least four people at the top levels of Glasto read here (and sometimes post too, for some at least), so I guess from that they're looking for feedback.

I'm not entirely sure how much long term planning goes on, but plenty of smaller changes get made thru a natural yearly evolution, where a problem gets identified and an attempted fix is put in place for the next festival.

Or do we think anyone at glasto HQ is a secret lurker on the boards or maybe even an active member of the posting community

From what Emily has said to me, she definitely reads here. She can think it overly negative, but she's also commented about the 'knowledgeable people' here.

I know another of the very big bosses has posted here.

I know an area organiser has posted here regularly in the recent-ish past.

I know another area organiser reads here.

Oh, and Shangri-la's Chis Tofu has posted here very recently too (a week or two pre-fest), I'd forgotten him till just now.

That's just those I know about. There's no doubt plenty more.
