Sunday night fires at Leeds

Recommended Posts

I've been to Leeds in both 2008 and 2014.

A big feature of 2008 was the annoying Sunday night riots, where everything that isn't pinned down seemingly gets chucked on a bonfire and people drag off random tents. I'm sure it's great fun when you are 18, but I'm getting on a bit now and like a bit of sleep without fear of being burnt alive. Orange (up on the hill) got quite mental with a massive bonfire

In 2008 we basically realised what was go on at about 11.30pm, and got our minibus to come and pick us up at 4am (all the way from Cumbria.

In 2014 I left on Sunday night as I had to be back at work, so I've no idea just how crazy it gets these days. I'd also had literally no proper sleep as I camped at Picadilly Circus (the XFM disco is very loud :D)

So, has it died down these days. I know Reading have banned fires on Sunday. Is Leeds the same?

Any of the campsites a little bit quieter, but not right back at the entrance and less likely to have a towering inferno right outside my tent at 3am ;)
