The vast majority of people on here seem to have an appreciation of real music.

Which is why I am posting a link to my new bands recorded demo.

I have been reading the site for years and find myself agreeing with most people's opinion when it comes to music in general - how it was then and how it it now.

Bands I like range from Pixies, Velvet Underground, Nirvana, Radiohead, Interpol (earlier stuff)

And I know many people here have a similiar taste although that is only a few of various bands playing various types of music.

Anyway here's a link to a song I believe would surprise a lot of people

Cheers

I listened to it and didn't really like it. It reminded me too much of a weaker version of the Psychedelic Furs. That said, it is well known on these boards that my understanding and appreciation of music is not the norm - well not on this site anyway.

All that said, I firmly believe that the lead singer and the musicians have easily got it within them to create something magical. The first thing I'd do is not let the vocals be drowned out by the sound of instruments. Then I'd just kind of alter everything. Why copy, and achieve a bullshit level of appreciation. Why not give us all something that blows our minds like we have just discovered fire or something?

I think you are being mediocre and I think you shouldn't be. And you possibly know that you are.

Regards

I'm not good in judging music. However, the sound is good. It make me move somehow likewise, the voice is good. On the other hand, I don't feel the vocalist as good story teller. As the lyrics are just going out on his mouth without emotion.

Hey Yog.

That's the best response so far in my opinion. I agree with the majority of what you said. The production is pretty bad as it was recorded on garageband with just the singer and myself playing all the instruments.

You are totally right and as a band we know now what we have to do and it's achievable.

Thank you.

Hello TheSimianLine

Thank you for your polite response to my post. I don't often listen to music but when I do (via being overheard what my wife put's on) I really do 'get' what's special and what's not. You aren't special. Yet. But you so have it within you to be so. I have very little to offer you in the way of guidance. The only thing I could suggest is don't make your music sound like any other band trying to make it. Go out on a limb and be experimental. But don't do that add hoc - it (the vocals and the music) has to blend. It has to blend to the point where it raises goose pimples on our arms and powers emotions in our heads. That's the direction you need to aim for - not only to gain our hearts but also that you too can feel achievement.

Once again, all the best.
