I don't understand why they left that until today though? Yes it's a big announcement on its own but why not strengthen the main announcement yesterday. Have Korn announced anything else along with this?

they didn't deserve to be put on yesterdays announcement, they are 10x better than any band on yesterdays haha

I think a few people even said there would be no chance they'd be booked nowadays

And it should have stayed that way!

Korn against Eminem would be better for me! :P

It would as then they don't need to be heard.

Guessing they'll be 3rd top on Main Stage, could be 4th too but as they got their own announcement I assume they'll be 3rd.

The issue is a few years ago they were playing 3rd down at Download... and are much more relevant there so 3rd down at Reading would make it a pretty poor booking. They got their own one as they haven't played before.

So you don't like KoRn? I think that's what you're getting at?

I was waiting for you to pop along haha! NO!, I could listen to maybe 2 songs but on the majority no, it was hugely upsetting when they were Slipknots support the tour before last.

But in all fairness they aren't a 3rd down band at Reading and you can see by their own tour dates these days that they aren't huge, not by a long shot!

On the plus side the next announcement will make it better than last years....it has to surely!

I've seen Korn 5 times but December was the best by a country mile. It was probably the best gig of the 200 odd bands I saw last year. I don't know what they've done but they've had some kind of resurgence and they are really bringing it live. I for one hope they aren't on NME as the sound in there always seems to suck but that single announcement has probably convinced me to go. If someone could guarantee that Muse will play Citizen Erased then I am definitely at Leeds.

that's your opinion and thats fine but you can't say they aren't huge, for example they are twice as big as TDCC

I can say they aren't huge because they aren't! They have been playing 3rd down/closing 2nd stage at a festival here that is directly aimed at them for years until they got a sub bump up because someone most likely pulled/said no. TDCC a few years ago were much bigger than them, Korn's status years and years back isn't relevant to now. For the record, TDCC being a sub is crazy!

Flume, Fat Boy Slim, Bastille & Korn... I don't expect all the NME headliners to be announced this early, could FBS headline Dance Stage? Or a closing set from him or flume, with the other three as headliners? Korn subbing Muse?

I think Korn will headline the NME with Flume closing (Like Bizkit/ Knife party in 2015), FBS and Bastille both headlining and closing their respective days. Even though he may not be totally relevant with the younger crowd FBS is a legend at what he does and will not be doing the dance stage, especially with this being his first time at the festival.

Korn are great for me, really surprising announcement. I also noticed that Pendulum are headlining NASS which is surprising, would that make any difference for them possibly appearing?

Current issue with Pendulum doing anything is that they have already been announced for SW4. This means that unless they play at Creamfields on the Thursday (which usually has a very small lineup) they'll have to choose between doing Creamfield or R&L. I have a feeling that Cream will be willing to pay more (as it is first live show in ages and it is Creamfields 20th anniversary) so they'll probably go there instead. However historically they all have had a really good relationship with R&L (Knife Party played 2015, and El Hornet's Pendulum played 2014?)

If they do play R&L they'll have to do Friday Leeds, Sunday Reading and so will probably either have to sub Eminem or headline the NME (As they are playing Saturday at SW4)

I think it's unlikely, but hell if they get Pendulum it would be amazing

I always just assumed Gazza was a Korn fan. :dontknow:

Very surprised by this announcement. The fact that R+L would book them nowadays and that they'd be well received as an interesting booking and stuff. I know that sounds mean I guess but they are pretty much from a bygone era that I didn't think R+L reached out to fans of anymore, especially not with this headliner lot (although Eminem came up at the same time as them). I was surprised Bizkit were booked too tho.

I could imagine Fatboy Slim doing a closing set more than Flume. I dunno why because there isn't really any difference.

That being said, I think Korn will be third or fourth down main.

I think Korn will be 3rd down personally.

Where does everyone think JEW will be? Too big for lockup? or 4th main?

I think either 5th down or sub NME

JEW aren't too big to do the Lock Up, but as they headlined it in 2014 alongside their main stage slot I'm expecting them to be high up NME (either sub or 3rd down) but 5th on Main again could definitely happen.
