I know it was mentioned briefly earlier about Stormzy potentially subbing but he's 4th on the poster at V Fest so I can't see him playing very highly at R/L if at all. Nobody's mentioned the Chainsmokers recently, would they fit in under muse? I'm starting to think it's more and more likely that Kaiser Chiefs could sub however.

Chainsmokers are playing Friday at Creamfields so they could only play on the Eminem day SO I think its unlikely as you already have Flume and Major Lazer that day. Stormzy is playing the saturday so he would only be able to play under Kasabian. Maybe Stormzy could do a closing set though after Bastille on the NME? The only way I could see him fitting in now.

Bastille aren't on NME, they are subbing, YMA6 are headlining NME unless they have put Bastille before TDCC for some odd reason...not likely.

Yea thats what I meant, forgot they had bumped bastille up :P

They didn't bump them up, they had already announced them and people predicted them stupidly imo as NME headliners instead, nothing in their tour dates definitely clarified what dates they were playing as they had all 3 dates covered for the fest.

You knew what I meant. I forgot that the majority of predictions were wrong and they were higher than we had thought. I had forgotten this fact and assumed that they were still only headlining the NME. Are we done being pedantic now?

No because it wasn't pedantic! Being moved up is having been been edited to headline NME and having a bump up.....but that's not the case is it!

Are we done accepting we were wrong and trying to paint over it that's it's changed since the last announcement from an imaginary lineup we haven't seen?

There you go is that better for you ffs. I was wrong, you were right, I apologise for getting where an act was wrong and I promise to never to it again if that pleases you......

Stormzy at V.

Muse / Skepta / HAIM / Blossoms / Architects

Chance the Rapper / Halsey

Maybe swap HAIM with Chance and have Giggs closing NME after them or something idk. Is Giggs any bigger now than last time he played? Baffled by him being that high on the poster.

Muse / Skepta / Chance the Rapper / Blossoms / Architects

Giggs (c/s) / HAIM / Halsey

I dunno tbh. If Chance is 3rd main then Wiley would have to be like 5th down NME to avoid clashing with him (I assume they'd want to avoid that), unless he's just headlining 1xtra again.

They aren't gonna have two Wireless headliners play the same day on the undercard at R+L. It'll be one or the other and given how they haven't had Chance play since 2013 and Skepta plays every year, I hope it's Chance.

Giggs had a fairly big album back in August. He must be on that second line because he's moving onto the main stage.

Why do you need to please me?, just please yourself in not being a bit of a fool about it.....I didn't predict and knew they wouldn't headline it and didn't try paint over it but either way as long as you've made yourself happier.

Apart from the smallish acts that play the Dance Tent, there typically isn't a crossover between V and R&L. Given that Stormzy wasn't announced for Wireless either (so no real reason to withhold his announcement), I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't at R&L this year.

He won't be, he's at V Fest.

I don't think he'd be on that second line on the poster if he's just playing the 1Xtra stage for a third time.

think G-Eazy was similarly high on last year's poster and only got 1xtra headliner... before completely bailing on the fest anyway.

drummed this up based on what there is.

also reckon Alt-J to sub muse w Chance 3rd down on and Skepta headlining NME on the same day.

We already know who is playing on the Dance stages (From Andy C's Leak) so Eden and Tom Misch aren't on there. Plus I beleiev someone said that Frank Carter had already said he was on the NME this year?

Either way I'd already done the same thing too and after a bit of jiggling around the last couple of days ours look surprisingly similar (though what people have said about Giggs make me wonder if they're gonna do a closing set on the Sunday vs. Muse). I also echo what people have said - I don't think Skepta will play as he does every year and I don't see why they wouldnt have announce Stormzy the other day either, so I think they're both not gonna happen.

It's more than possible that Andy C has an old/provisional version of the poster that has since been updated. Suppose Misch could be on 1xtra and Eden might end up on NME or FR but I just thought dance seemed the best fit for both.

Skepta and Chano being held makes sense to me as they're both headlining Wireless.

Imagine for a second how many people are gonna turn up to a Giggs NME set at 10pm- why would they book that? Reckon his 1xtra headline slot has just given him a lucky high placing on that poster due to the fact that three big names have been left off it.

Stormzy definitely isn't happening as he's at V. This shouldn't even be a conversation.

Muse / Chance the Rapper or Skepta / HAIM / Blossoms / Architects

Giggs / Halsey / The Hunna / Wiley

The other days appear to have top 3 main followed by the NME headliner so I wouldn't be surprised if the Sunday is top 3 main (minus a TBA sub) then the NME headliner.

Giggs doesn't feel like an NME headliner to me but he is very high on the poster. Alternatively I guess it could be HAIM headlining NME Blossoms 3rd on main and Giggs 4th, but that feels even worse.

I get what dental says about them not having 2 Wireless headliners on the undercards but feels to me like it's either that or there are some bloody weak bookings on that day.

Not as high as fourth down the list - they were all third-down main acts. Even with a few additions Giggs is above loads of acts that are getting billed above in predictions.

On the press release Migos and Giggs are the top two acts that aren't Eminem so I can only imagine people are underestimating them - I'd be extremely surprised if either are on the 1xtra stage. In fact the press release sorts a lot of the acts into neat clusters of acts you could assign to each stage so it wouldn't be unwise to go off that.

Why not a TBA NME headliner as well?

I think it has to be: Muse / TBA / Haim / Blossoms / Giggs / Architects (possible Pit headliner however) // NME: TBA / Halsey

One of them either Chano or Skep, the other someone held back for another reason - possibly just the other reason of making the next announcement seem strong.

Wouldn't the Giggs set on the 1xtra be at 10 as well anyway? either way he'd be closing a stage? I just don't see how else he would have ended that high up on the poster. At the least he would have been put on the end after Halsey surely if he was playing that far down?

I think maybe Tom Misch might be on the Dance Stage, but EDEN I would imagine would be on the NME as he plays with a band usually when he does live shows which is a lot more awkward to do when on the Dance stage.

Skepta being held would make sense if he is playing, but I would expect it is more likely for Chance to play especially as he has already been announced for Pukklepop so we know he is in the area (don't think Skepta has really be announced for anything that end of August)

Still think Haim won't be bumped up that much and we still have a TBA sub and third, as well as TBA NME headliner. Haim will either play fourth down main or maybe subbing NME (effectively what they were lined up to do last year if NAS wasn't doing a special performance). Chance playing third down and someone else subbing. I had thought maybe Chase and Status subbing but they're playing Creamfields on the Sunday, not sure who else would be able to do it? Doub't they'd put alt-J before them.

And I definitely agree with Migos, they're definitely on the NME.
