Tbf their first single released off this latest album is shite and as much as I love their older stuff (excluding Mr Brightside) I hope they don't headline. Kasabian, a heavier band (Foo, Linkin Park, etc) and an alternative headliner (Gorillaz, Drake etc) would do for me

Which song is that? The only 'new' one I've heard recently is Peace Of Mind which is a Sams Town-era demo.

Muse supposedly touring next year? Thought they'd have taken a bit of time off, but I guess this makes them more of a possibility.

Nah Matty B outlined that they'd be doing some US shows and that's it. This being one of em.

I can only assume he means Runaways despite that being over 4 years old.

Really hope we get some album/tour news from them soon. But tbh I'd rather they put out nothing than an album on par with Battle Born, which was mostly terrible. The standard of Brandon's second solo album last year and his comments regarding Battle Born not being good enough give me hope that it'll be a return to form this time around though. Looking forward to the new Christmas song, maybe it'll give us an idea of what direction they're going in.

Am I wrong to expect Blink 182 and Linkin Park at Reading this year, with something else a little more British for good measure.

Neither will be there. Linkin Park the more likely of the two but still very unlikely due to when they're in Europe and not really being an appealing headliner for the festival in 2017.

Blink are as good as 100% ruled out.

Linkin Park are unlikely but you never know, seems like there's a few more appealing acts available for R&L to book over Linkin Park unless they did what they did at Download and played Hybrid Theory in full, that or Meteora.

Avenged Sevenfold/Bring Me The Horizon co-headline please.

BMTH have pretty much said outright next time they play it'll be as outright headliners or not at all.

Also A7x would probably sub at Reading which they would likely turn down for the fear Andy Copping would say they've devalued themselves and they don't get to headline Download next year.

Need to cut all the suspense bs and adopt this years DL format

I prefer the method Download tend to use of all 3 headliners early on then drip feed the remaining acts steadily too.

Reading seems to do it because they want to get steadier sales throughout the year, even though ultimately they'd likely end up with the same sales more or less.
