Well, that is remarkable indeed and I agree, BS playing after Florence would't be that much of a stretch. I've also started to look at other festivals especially NOS. I really like Werchter though so I wait a bit more to see if the line up improves. If not: hello Portugal.

If I hadn't already booked flights and tickets for RW I'm almost certain I'd take the plunge on NOS.  Radiohead playing swings it for me.  I'm thinking if Radiohead were playing the Thursday they'd be announced by now.  Can't think of any reason they'd delay it.  Maybe it's still going to be Pearl Jam. #Clutchingatstraws ^_^

I really can't see Florance changing days after day tickets have been on sale for the Sunday. Surely that would fuck up peoples plans who got a ticket just for her (yep all 6 of them).

They did it before though: in 2013 Volbeat was a subheadliner on Thursday, then they moved them to Saturday in March (so even later). People with Thursday tickets were allowed to ask for a refund or exchange for Saturday.

I honestly can't see why springsteen can't just play after her on the Sunday. There are a lot of bands available that can still take the Thursday headline slot.

There's a lot of bands with an album due this year that haven't announced their plans yet. Which would fit with why we don't have a Thursday headliner yet.

The RW organiser once said "we'll only book acts like Springsteen when the festival really needs it". And even if F+TM is a weak headliner, it seems weird to add one of the most expensive and high demanding festival acts while Thursday is empty and a smaller crowd favourite (i.e. Netsky) could also dothe trick on Sunday. Heck, in 2014 the Kings Of Leon day sold out in April thanks to a strong undercard and Stromae as party act.

Anyway, this is all just a theory, given that some weird things are happening.

In other news: Netsky said on Stubru that he won't be playing RW this year. Odd.

Are we thinking this year that they'll only be one dance closer on the main stage? Seems unusual for RW. Personally don't want Bruce, I'd rather Green Day (who've been hinting at new music this year), Arcade Fire and probably radiohead.

Hoping Biffy, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, All Time Low, Tenacious D, The Hives and CHVRCHES get added - what are the likely hood of these?

Difficult to say.  Seems Biffy aren't as big in Belgium as they are here so there's probably a fair chance.  I'd take the Hives in a minute.

Based on RW's Facebook cover image, the rakings on bands look like this:

1. Rammstein, RHCP, F+TM, Editors

2. At the Drive-In, Disclosure, Jamie XX, New Order, Parov Stelar, Paul Kalkbrenner, PJ Harvey, Robert Plant And The Sensational Space Shifters, Tame Impala, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Offspring

3.Band of Horses, Beirut, Black Box Revelation, Bring me the Horizon, Gutterdämmerung, MØ, Richard Hawley, Sigma Live

4.Bear’s Den, Courtney Barnett, Gary Clark Jr., Savages, Unknown Mortal Orchestra

I actually thought Bring me the Horizon was bigger.

Im surprise to see ATDI in the second group.  Anyway I hope that this font thing will change or at least mean something different than last year because in last year's poster there were only 15 acts in the top 2 groups and we already have 15 now.

It's maybe that they're not struggling but can't announce due to contractual issues.  Let's say Pearl Jam are playing Europe but don't want to announce dates til say Wednesday, then RW would need to agree to wait until the band wanted to announce.

If they're really struggling for a Thursday headliner Muse are supposedly doing Glastonbury the week before. I knew they headlined last year but as I say, only if they're really struggling.

They've probably got Belgian arena shows this year but dunno how much of an issue that is.

Just thought I'd float the idea.

I would doubt very much if Muse returned so quickly.  Really enjoyed their set last year

According to a big Italian concert promoter, Springsteen's European tour gets announced on Tuesday. I guess we'll learn something then.

Please no Werchter date :(:(.  Waste of two slots if he gets 4 hrs

I think that you have had a bad experience with him, I don't know how, but if he's in the line-up, come with us front-pit and he will change your mind, I promise ;) He has everything. Even in the River + encore setlist. Stunning music (Thunder Road, Point Blank), songs of stadium (Hungry Heart), awesome moments of rock'n'roll (Rosalita is a masterpiece), songs adapted to festivals (His cover of Twist & Shout sums it up, he could invite other artists on stage), he's close to the audience (crowd surfing, invite a girl on Dancing In The Dark). Even if his music is often bases on simple chords, the orchestral work of transcription by his pianist turns it to gold. I'm sure he will blow your mind !! Don't do the mistake to miss him because of a bad experience ;).

+ HOPE FOR PEARL JAM - MY FAVOURITE BAND

Yeah I don't realize why are so many people against Springsteen.

He has it all, a huge set of hits and festival anthems, amazing stage presence, great band, and fantastic music. He's popular but also have 'quality' approval. Can't see how bands like Green Day or Arcade Fire would be considered stronger acts...

I do understand why people like him but there's just something about him that really irritates me. I can't stand his type of music , bit too slick and aor american for me.  Only pearl jam or radiohead will do it for me

Oh yes I know what you mean, it's his only downside, I admit it :P A bit too much of America in his songs (Land of hope and dreams, American skin, Born in the USA... Stop lol)

By the way, I can read on the Glastonbury forum that The Sun (Ok it's The Sun, I don't know how reliable are their sources) keeps asserting that Foo Fighters will play at Glastonbury 2016. I think we shouldn't totally forget them... They are not probable, but if they really come to Glastonbury, Rock Werchter is not far away...

Well they got U2, U2 the following year (okay we could all get that) and The Who + Weller correct, they have to get decent info to a certain extent to have that last one, among others including should they play Coldplay for this year. As shit as they are at sport, music is something they don't have a bad record at.

We usually have a header for Glasto by now and there is nothing contractual at all holding back Adele if it is indeed her, only Muse/Coldplay. We don't know what Foo's circumstances are but something is holding back Werchter from announcing a header.

His later stuff is a bit like that. But albums like Born to Run, Wild & Innocent, Darkness at the Edge of Town, are all masterpieces and barely contains any over-american references or themes.

And also, Born in the USA is actually a protest song against the Vietnam war, not the patriotic anthem many people think it is...

The only song I really like on that album is drive all night.

I'm a fan of the album and really wouldn't mind hearing the full thing, but I know a lot of others are a little less enthusiastic. Tbf, I think Ties That Bind, Hungry Heart, Sherry Darling, Two Hearts, The River and You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch) are all crowd pleasers. Wait and see though :)
