Rock Werchter 2016

I think the Sunday will end up the same as the Sunday in 2014: rather weak in the headline department (KoL and Stromae coheadlining), but an easy sell out because the day is filled with highly popular mid-sized names (Chase & Status, Franz Ferdinand, Bastille, MGMT, Rudimental, ...). With acts like TLSP, Iggy Pop, Jamie XX and Skunk Anansie, they seem to be taking that route again.

The other 3 days are bound to sell out within the next weeks. McCartney can fix the Thursday on his own, and the Belgian Rammstein army guarantees 10.000 day tickets sold every time they pass (+ it's a rock day, good strategy).

I guess RW publish of the stages and positions means they pretty much sorted all the lineup yet. My view:

I think Thursday top non-dance acts have already been revealed.

Friday is not clear enough yet whether big acts are still to come.

Saturday top non-dance acts have already been revealed to, unless TDCC are not playing third (I guess they do as BoH already played 4th down in 2013).

Sunday has some gaps. Im surprised that M & RL are subbing Flo and it also make the chance of another biig act on the main stage.

Looking at the stage splits I can't see room for another big act other than maybe headlining the barn. Would massive arrack or the national do that. Need some decent stuff at other stages on yhe Sunday or I'll be in the hive by early evening.

As for selling out, what is daily capacity at the site and how many of those are day tickets.

How likely is Of Monsters and Men?

I know that they played last year, but as far as I can tell, I can see that we currently just have two artists from the previous year: F+TM and Years & Years.

It seems like they do also have a huge gap in their European tour: Denmark 25th of June and then Norway 12th of July.

I saw them live at Roskilde in 2013 and they were awesome. With their second album out, I would really like to see them again.

RW booking policy don't care to repeat, but OMAM already played relatively high last year (4th down @main stage) and I dont see where they can play this year. Based on other years we can assume there will be another 4-5 repeats (BADBADNOTGOOD aside, they were booked last year too but canceled) so there is always a chance.

Saturday still needs a sub. No way that TDCC is moving up 4 spots (compared to 2013) without releasing any new material. Probably a smaller sub, like Bastille or Tenacious D.

And both The Offspring and TLSP seem like small subs to me too. So I'm expecting The National on one of those days.

I hope you're right about the second part. The first one with Bastille is awful.:P

But don't forget that when there is a co-headline structure the sub doesn't have to be that big, although TDCC (which are about to release new album soon) are indeed looking too small for that.

I'm hoping for acts like biffy, Billy talent, tenacious d, bad religion, refused, dropkick murphys etc to be spread out between Thursday and Sunday to give me something to watch during the day

Edit. If skunk anansie are headlining klub c it will give me something to watch whilst screeching flo is on the main stage.

Clashfinder has been updated. They put Tenacious D in the Barn at Sunday, and Imagine dragons and Kendrick Lamar as Subheadliners. Moderat, Flume and Kygo as Klub C closers. Interesting.

They do also ad bands like: Bloc Party, Foals, 1975, Chvrches, M83.

Looks okay, but I could still really need some more rock like Biffy Clyro and Turbonegro

That list certainly doesn't improve the line up for me.

Damn you're right, Macklemore is won't close the main stage : he plays before Florence ! I think that will close the festival, but I hope there is still a surprise coming.

I think there's a chance of Major Lazer as closing dance act on sunday..

He played RW last time in 2014 and in 2015 he played pukkelpop.

he also has a gap on tour dates in the end of june before coming in Europe so I think he's very likely  now.

My one hope PJ Harvey doesn't clash with editors.

Looking at how editors are closing and pj Harvey isn't, I'd guess that she'll clash with the end of rhcp and the set up for editors.

The only likely looking clashes I'm hoping to avoid are Glen Hansard/ band of horses and Paul McCartney/New order

Bar very long sets (PJ in 2014) the main stage closer is always playing against KluB C headliner and rarely starting before the Barn headliner finishes. As PJ Harvey isnt headlining the Barn,  you got no problems :)
