I have been looking at gaps in schedules and who is touring, what do we think is the likelihood of:

CHVRCHES

Caribou (seem to have a history of playing?)

Vince Staples

PJ Harvey (under Arcade Fire?)

At The Drive-In (wouldn't just play one show in Europe in the summer)

Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Delorean

Major Lazer

MO

and what about Beirut?

There seems to be a flux of bands that are split between all the festivals so far. with most festivals having well over half of their cards to announce, has anyone got any idea what other bands are likely to be touring this summer? There must be tons of bands nobody has even mentioned/thought of yet that will appear out of the woodwork for this summer.

For anyone wanting to know about Lisboa camping, I had a very good experience here. I went to both NOS Alive and Benicassim in the same year, and the campsite at NOS Alive was brilliant in comparison, the ground is relatively easy to pitch up on and the trees keep you in the shade most of the day so that the tents don't get too warm. There is a nice pool there with a fun atmosphere for most and plenty of areas to get food and drink. All in all, it was a great camping experience. Would recommend it and I am tempted to again this year myself.

Tame Impala, At The Drive-In, Sigma Live, Band of Horses, Gary Clark Jr., Savages and Bear’s Den are announced for Werchter..

I hope Band of Horses will join the line-up of NOS Alive... And maybe Sigma Live, my girlfriend would be happy :D

I would love to see At The Drive-In turn up at NOS Alive, and I wouldn't be surprised by Band of Horses or maybe Gary Clark Jr.

Couple that with predicted Savages and Last Shadow Puppets and the line up would be looking quite complete for the main stage.

Would Sigma be the right size for the dance tent?

It would be an awesome closing-party for sure!

What was wrong with Benicassim in comparison? Might be heading there this year...

There's barely any shade, the ground is that hard knocking a peg in with a hammer is difficult. The campsite is pretty much right at the side of the stages so little chance of sleeping till 5/6am and the sun WILL have you awake at 8. I've travelled and camped across  Europe and nowhere was more unpleasant than Beni. Book a hotel/hostel it is worth the expense!

At the drive and band of horses would elevate this line up from the best ever lineup to the best ever lineup +. Here's hoping.

Tickets, flight and hostel booked. Really can't wait for this. Is there ever a big batch of bands announced or is it all usually drip fed over a few months.

Drip fed. But more close to May / June they will announce bands in bigger batches (for the electronic tent, Heineken Stage smaller acts).

Usually 2-4 bands a week till line up on both main stages is complete, then tend to announce most of the clubbing tent acts in a short space of time

It is worth looking at who has albums coming out that haven't booked many/any European festival slots yet.

Animal Collective, Haim, Chairlift, Santigold, Chromatics, Real Estate, Parquet Courts, Steve Mason, Miike Snow, The Coral, Emmy the Great, Moderat, Weezer...

Would be nice to see a few undercard acts that other festivals haven't booked yet.

I usually go to Rock Werchter but really tempted to go to NOS this year. Anyone been to both festivals? Similarities/differences?

Also I have 2 more questions: when does the festival usually sell out? Is there any hotels in the city center that is located close to the metro/trains?

Thanks in advance=)
