and had to put this in here, classic Vauxhall Chevette hatch in the foreground, had a sky blue one myself

Had a brown one, lovely condition, got rear ended while stationery by an idiot that didn't see me waiting to turn right. Some bits of my back remember it well!

Ouch sounds painful, like the closeup of the door to Tbird 4 from the pod in Tbird 2 if i'm not mistaken.

Back to the countdown and back into Glastonbury planning mode. Going through some of your pics has helped ease my thinking back to the festival.

To Hattersboy I'd say that the IoW also helps put you into festival mode and will also help you appreciate the wonders of Glastonbury all the more.  IoW may get a good line up but bands alone can't make for a festival spirit.  At the IoW there's not a lot to do apart from watch the music.  At Glastonbury there is so much else to do that the music can be almost be a sideshow.

My distraction has been Berlin staying in a breathtaking apartment with old friends.  It's a very thought-provoking city with a huge amount to see.  We probably overdid the sightseeing and museums in a four day visit - a bit like the first time you visit Glastonbury and try to do everything.

Yes thats what I was thinking, music was good but something was missing. Regards getting into festival mode think it was making Hattersgirl think of never festivalling again!

Don't let the IoW experience put you or Hattersgirl off either Glastonbury or any other festival.  Glastonbury is really about 20 festivals all on the same site and you can have a taste of all sorts.  After that you can think about what elements of Glastonbury you really enjoyed (or would like to avoid in future) and then pick future festivals to suit your taste.  If the IoW had been my only festival going experience I'd not be that keen on further fests. Thankfully I'd already been to plenty of others and helped run a few so recognised the shortcomings or drawbacks to the IoW.  I even used it as a case study in an event planning course I was running a couple of weeks later as 'How not to organise an event.'

Thanks you've put my mind at rest, am sure she'll love it too.
