universe - a poem for yoghurt on a stick efestival forum 19.10.15

 

 

on this lonely planet

flourishing was the population and cars

this yoghurt on a stick was my gannet

i wanted to have a honey moon on mars.

so communication did trickle

it was the pattern

in my head was slap and tickle

so i booked a holiday on Saturn.

we had a splendid break

from boredom both were immune

yoghurt on a stick was on the take

planning to leave me for some rough on Neptune.

it was a kick to my rear

i new over was the jerky

it was no music to my ear

playing was not queen or mr bad guy mr Mercury.

anger was starting to build

out of action was my penis

the ozone layer was no shield

but i saw a twinkle on Venus.

getting older is my gun

very little light

bring in my beautiful sun

delivered on earth just right.

i hope you are a encrypt er

and you have a taste for shameless

yoghurt on a stick move with me to Jupiter

or i will never forgive Uranus.

Apologies - just in a cantankerous mood tonight and didn't take my tablets this morning. Being a twat / bigger twat always occurs when I don't take them.

Thanks for being cool about it. I don't really like 'going off on one' in a nasty way as it's not the real me. I really must remember not to post on here when I'm in one of those moods. It's easier said than done though when I've not taken my daily medication.

I've never really liked poetry before but I can now appreciate a little of the challenge that it offers.

My brother used to be really in to poetry and even managed to wangle a free return trip the the USA from the Irish government on the strength of his out pourings. His been published here and there but I couldn't say where as I took little interest at the time.

I try not to rant as I prefer a more sedate existence. Sometimes it just can't be helped though.

I've just had a thought - maybe we could run 'one' thread which has a weekly poetry topic which anybody who feels like writing poetry can join in on with their own offering. People could take it in turns to decide which is that weeks topic. Just a thought. Anybody up for it apart from me and poetrychatbore (I'm assuming that you'd be game for this) ?
