Are Poems The Right Way To Discuss Issues?

We've been through this many times over the years - Neil is  not a bully, and if you say he is reserves the right in the name of free speech he to insult, degrade and humiliate you.

Trying to judge Neil's behaviour by your standards is disrespectful and oppressive, and probably something to do with voting Tory. Neil telling you you're a useless c**t and judging you by his standards is something different altogether.

And I love you too. :)

I reserve the right to be a loose cannon, and you can be 100% sure I'm going to off.

The more its played to the man's rules the more the man is in control. Fuck that. Nothing of right or wrong is in manner.

True, but in this situation aren't you 'the man'? Shouldn't you be encouraging us to rebel against and question your views?

derrrrr....??

Ah, so your presence and behaviour on these forums is some kind of fucked up role play when you act in an aggressive, insulting and hypocritical manner just to encourage us to fight against the powers that be? To teach us that if we can learn to defy you and your overbearing hand that we can do the same throughout our daily life?

You are a great man, making yourself look bad just for our benefit.

Those in power in society have come up with a set of rules which help protect their positions of power.

This makes sense now.

FIGHT THE POWER

what has that got to do with what's being discussed here? You think people are nice to each other because they'been told to behave that way?

To put it simply enough so that you're able to understand: yes.

The Normans got to be rich by killing and stealing, and to protect their riches they outlawed killing and stealing.

Everything else is a version of the same thing. It's not about 'civilisation' but instead protectionism.

There's better things to do than swallow it whole.

when I reply, sometimes old quotes are still left in some kind of buffer, and they're (seemingly) impossible to delete

if you 'quote' something into the edit box and then don't post it, that's what happens. It can be deleted in the normal manners via your keyboard.

I know there's some changes with the edit box in the next version of the forums (coming in the next few weeks), and i hope something about this will be one of them.

I have to open you in IE now as edge won't open you at all. before that. I had quotes contained within quotes ad infinitum, even after I'd rebooted, in bloody Edge. (I can no longer use my wifi adapter either, as apparently the driver that I've been using for months doesn't actually exist grrr)

No, like the opinions they're expressing.

You do this no differently to anyone else. Any higher moral ground you might be seeing for yourself is your own invention.

well calling values opinions is a bit of a stretch, though I do have some sympathy with what you're saying regarding property ownership and law.

And I agree, we should question our values before embracing them - and while I concede that being nice also serves the function of social control, it has other benefits as well.

Particularly to employers and the state, who are the biggest embracers and drivers of "lets all be nice to each other".

And because we're all nice to each other, we can have laws that do away with the not nices of any flavour just as the tories are currently proposing.

But there's no sheep around here who haven't noticed that we don't have govt but instead have man-management, oh no. :P

mmm....I usually apply this to mental health stigma, as far as perceptions of social deviance, this is a huge topic though, if you're looking to address socialisation in a much more general way, even as it relates to social deviance.
