The other Bellboy
I was planning on staying until the Tuesday morning next year as expecting this to be my last visit and wanted to get the absolute maximum time on site. In the past i have seen posts from folk who said they have stayed until the Tuesday but have read stuff on the GFL website today which says you have to leave by Monday evening. Any help please folks? Yoghurt on a Stick
I've heard of people staying on until the Tuesday and not getting any bother about it. I would say that one stumbling block may be that if you are camping all your stuff may be taken by tatters if you are away from your tent. The other Bellboy
Thanks Yoghurt, that's not a problem for me as i'm one of the scummy light weight festival goers who has a campervan and of course the obligatory chairs:) cheers

That said, it is tempting to go for a campervan ticket for next year.
Dillyblue
We had our campervan in the East fields again this year and there was a noticeable increase from previous years in the numbers still around on Monday. By mid afternoon though we were being 'encouraged' to leave by the staff as there was to be the mass exodus by the traders in the early evening. We left shortly afterwards so not sure if the field cleared or if anyone was caught up in that traffic......
Stave
I happened to be the last one out of E19 this year at around 19:45 on Monday. As Dillyblue says, the stewards were on our case until the minute we left.Even though I didn't have any plans to stop another night, based on their insistence to move us on, I think it would be hard to stop until Tuesday... Yoghurt on a Stick
Apologies The other Bellboy as my original response to this question was referring to people who were camping. I guess in amongst the sea of discarded tents they can't dream of getting everybody out by the Monday night.
The other Bellboy
No need to apologise, it would seem easier to get away with being on site if you are camping, makes me think of possibly doing that but i don't think i could cope without my creature comforts these days!Maybe you should take you van one year and give it a try, i have just read an old topic posted on another thread and there were some comments from converted campers saying how much they enjoyed going in the vans and couldn't go back to camping.Leave it to 2017 though eh, as there's already lots of demand for campervan tickets and i don't want to encourage any more competition;)

Stayed until about 6 in 2010 and never saw anyone who was trying to get us to leave. I think maybe it has gotten more popular to stay or there could be license / landowner issues now. i'm sure i have seen posts from folk who stayed until the Tuesday and even read something from GFL about things staying open unto the last punters left - anyway thats all in the past i guess - cheers

Smeble
I think you may get away with it if tenting, I was on site on the Thursday after this years festival and there were still loads of tents and loads of people, obviously they are the clean up crews and all seemed to be camped together. Wouldn't be hard to blend in with these for one extra night.id imagine it would be much harder in the cv fields though as I assume workers get a special pass. We have stayed until the Tuesday morning for the past 3 years, we all wander down for a late breakfast as loads of the food stalls are still open in the main stage areas. We usually leave around 3pm ish and get a very warm departure wave from the volunteers
The other Bellboy
After all this i've had to change my plans totally, now need to leave at midnight (ish) on Sunday to catch a flight. Maybe there will be another year for me to try staying to the Tuesday. Hopefully there will be some updates after its all over on who managed to stay the latest;)
Sawdusty surfer
There were so many 'lively' people having a party at the Stone Circle on the Monday night security stopped anyone else entering the field..............
stardustjunkie
I know it's not quite the same as extending your time at the festival, but I highly recommend visiting the farm any time of year. My profile picture is me sitting on the stones and I could've stayed there all day. It's a beautiful place and a lovely walk. We went in September and camped in a local campsite. We had planned to walk around the festival site and then go up the Tor. We walked so far at the festival that the idea of facing the Tor afterwards quickly got replaced with going to the pub instead! There are times when the site is closed to the public so always check with the festival office before you go, but I thought I'd mention it as it's a lovely way to quietly enjoy such a beautiful and amazing place. We had a great breakfast from a food stall on Monday morning but didn't realise they were still there Tuesday.

shoptildrop
We camp in dairy and tend to stay until tea time on the Monday and tbh stewards are on your case to leave all day. Even if they weren't there is the tatters to deal with, as you have to have a person at your tent all day on the Monday otherwise people will take stuff...I would never risk leaving it unattended on the Monday
