Would you have gone it this was your first?  What is this Woffling Mk3 now?  You've got this childrearing down to a fine art by now surely?  Bet she won't even notice you're gone!

Skype the child, surely?

We cant desert hans now

Isn't he dead now, from the film? Maybe have him as a CGI 'force ghost' or whatever they call the benign image of dead jedis.

Hey all,

It looks like my friend and her partner who I was supposed to be pitching with are gonna drop out now that Adele has been confirmed as the final pyramid headliner - apparently the final straw for them after disappointment with Muse and Coldplay. (I know the festival is about much more than this and there are loads of other things to see / do instead of just focusing on the main acts - but each to their own and all that...I think some other stuff might be going on too that has led to this seemingly crazy decision.)

So...might I be welcome to join your solo camping group? I'm probably gonna get a coach from London to arrive at 5-6am on the Wednesday morning but don't mind waiting around to camp till afternoon / evening if others aren't arriving until much later.

I have a friend arriving alone on the Thursday afternoon / evening after work - might she be able to join us too, if there is sufficient space?

We're both females in our thirties. I'm also not an Adele fan to be honest, but often spend more time at the other stage headliners or elsewhere onsite anyways. I usually pitch in Pennards but haven't been able to attend since 2011 (extremely excited to be returning to the farm!) and am interested in considering other camping areas / finding out more about site changes in the past 4-5 years.

Cheers!

Paula :)

Hey everyone,

I'm a first timer and was unsure about going alone.  This could make it much easier! I was meant to be going with my now ex and as next week is decision time on paying for the ticket or letting it go, I need to grow a pair I think! I'm a 34 year old woman and like to think I'm pretty sociable so shouldn't be too hard!

Can't imagine going alone and making new friends could ever be worse than watching it at home and knowing I should have gone!

Having done smaller festivals before, I'd be nervous about rocking up and not being able to get space though!

I am an Adele fan and seeing her at Glastonbury feels like a once in a lifetime kinda thing!

Id pay for your ticket if i were you.

As you say you'll only regret it if you dont

As for space, there is usually plenty where we camp at....which is why we camped there last year...so if you want to join us great but even if you dont you'll still have a great time :)

As Thurlow said there should be plenty of space in the outer fields, last year there were probably about 30 'soloists' in Darble just in from the coach drop off and we had loads of room.

Hi Paula,

I am also getting the early coach from London.  Leaving from Wembly at 7:20.  Did you find earlier ones?  They all seemed sold out to me.

I'm so stupid.  I thought they changed things up and were only leaving from Wembley and not Victoria.  OOps.

It's an easy mistake to make...not stupid at all :) I was surprised coaches start in the middle of the night, they never used to.

I'm beginning to think it was not the best idea - I really struggle to get any sleep at all while travelling but sod it, at least I'll get there early and get settled hopefully without too much drama! Will probably be like a zombie all day on the Weds but that's really no different to how I am now, sitting at my desk.

I got the 2.15am coach last year, got us there about 5, were right at the front of the queue and in and set up within 10-15 mins of gates opening.  I grabbed a couple of hours kip late morning to give me the juice to enjoy the evening.

Haha, I can't sleep sitting on a coach, let alone standing in a queue...

Flight home from Oz with a 12 hour wait in Hong Kong was awful...40 odd hours travelling and not a second of shut-eye throughout :/

Good effort! I'm old and like my sleep ;)

Having said that, I'm normally so excited that I can't really sleep the night before anyways!
