I was at this gig too. I'm fairly sure he'll be there. His tour schedule seems to allow for it. Fantastic gig though, may well see him again at Glastonbury (clashes permitting).

Same here. Great gig and a definite "come to Glastonbury" reference from John Grant.

Hope he'll bring Richard Hawley and Budgie :D

I have just left the King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Gig in Manchester.

I asked the bassist of the support act, YAK if they were doing any festivals...

He said they are doing leeds/reading and last week were confirmed to be doing Glastonbury. John Peel Tent. He didn't know what day.

Great! They're excellent.

Had no idea they were supporting Gizzard actually - bet that was fun.

From their interview in QRO magazine ...

QRO: I’m excited that this year will have you guys touring for this album. Something that I don’t think most people have picked up on is that you don’t have to tour for this album if you didn’t want to. It wouldn’t be farfetched to say that if you didn’t want to tour this album, you wouldn’t ‘have to’ in the way most musicians do for albums. Do you feel part of this upcoming tour came from a desire you felt to play live while you were making these songs? Did that desire at all inspire how the album was made?

MK: Yeah, especially Glastonbury, man. In my head, I’d think of fucking Glastonbury, man.

AT: I’d be in the control room going, “Where’s Miles? I need him in here to do a bloody vocal!” and I’d find him air guitar-ing with the bloody mic stand, yelling tracks. [laughs] He’s already at bloody Glastonbury.

Brilliant news! Saw Yak twice last year and they were superb both times, incredibly good fun.

Also seeing them supporting the Gizzard in Camden, a frankly stonking double bill.

Value for money wise, it has been one of the best gigs I have been to in ages. King Gizzard were superb. Better than Glastonbury '15. A few too many over excited kids getting on stage - but they were doing no harm.

I had never heard of YAK previously. They were really good. I will be watching them on the farm
