Just wanted to check - are you both referring to this one?

Very tempted to buy it but my concern is my other half wants one she’s able to stand up in and this one looks a bit too short to be able to?

Great tent, can’t stand up straight but hardly crouching in there (I’m 6”1). Loadsa space for two.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular model?

I'd echo the replies to this - it's brilliant, but the lack of porch is a bit annoying. You can still get a pair of wellies between the outer and inner door though. Used it at the last Bestival when it was ludicrously hot and was able to sleep in till 10-11ish every day.

A 3 man is definitely too small for 2 people plus gear though, and it's not particularly long so beware if you're tall! You'd get two people in it to sleep but as per the comments above need a separate tent for your clobber.

Yep, that's the one.

My partner's quite short so could stand up with ease.   I couldn't stand up fully at 5 ft 10 but only a slight crouch really.

They don't make or sell that exact type any more.

There is a new version of the Air Seconds 4 with some slight differences which is still about £200 if you were expecting £120.....

;(

The newer XL models have a porch - I own the non fresh & black XL from a few years ago, and it is handy to have the extra space.

The only reason I've not made the upgrade yet is because I'm not sure if I actually want a blackout tent - I like it being light in my tent in the morning, so I can see what I'm doing!  Also it seems like they've annoyingly removed the ability to pull the back of the tent up for extra ventilation - one of my favourite features of the Quechuas.

One thing I'd suggest is that if the current models aren't exactly what you need, they usually launch the new models fairly late on - around Easter - so there may well be more options on the way.

when do Decathalon run their sales?

Decathlon Sale. " As our products are designed, produced and distributed by us, we can help save costs and ensure lower prices for you. That's why, at Decathlon, you will never find any temporary promotions or discounts. However, at the end of every season, to clear our collections, we offer sales discounts. "

so "we don't do sales until we have a sale"... excellent

Is this the XL version? I believe its the exact same one I have. Fantastic tent. A little bit heavy to carry but so much room and space and its very cool inside. The porch is big enough for 2 chairs to sit in and not get wet too.

Not sure ... if memory serves me correct it’s on the heavy side at 12kg ... but as it gets taken in in a bike trailer it’s not so bad ... was a black fri deal the year before last ... they didn’t seem to run the offers in the year just gone

Indeed ... but you aren’t stood completely up right when changing untill the very last point ... we’ll I’m not anyway ... it’s fine for getting changed .. :)

Even just being able to kneel up while changing has been fantastic. You actually get to stretch out a bit before leaving the tent on your hands and knees.

So..

For anyone who likes the idea of a tent that pretty much pops up, but don't want to carry a large disc around it looks like this is on the way next month. The initial model is a shade too small for me, but I guess if people buy it then larger variants may follow next year

And a video of it going up and down: (skip to about 25 seconds in)

It’s not the putting up part that’s going to sell it to people, it’s the time it takes to take it down. If I didn’t already have a fresh and black tent I’d definitely pick one of these up.

They look great to me ... the taking down also seems very easy .,. Along with the lack of disc shape

This looks ace. The disc format is a real pain when you are travelling by public transport.
