Download 2017

Those set times work out well on the Saturday, a big Biffy Clash is actually prefect.

About 10 mins of Sum 41 before heading down for System and even then the gaps to get through everyone will be tough. 

If I go I'd probably leave before the end of Biffy as to make a good start leaving the car park, not interested in them there or Zombie.

AFI vs. Max & Iggor is about my only hard clash. Got to be AFI, though. 

I'm only watching the first half of ADTR before heading to The Story So Far anyway, but now I'm seriously thinking about ditching ADTR all together and watching all of Coheed before heading to TSSF.

I may have just picked up a ticket really cheap to attend friday and saturday to see what I want to. ADTR and Simple Plan not clashing came with a few smiles.

Clashes have worked out fine for me.  It's mainly because there's not a great deal that excites me this year.  Had a listen to everything on spotify and there's a few things I'm hoping will be decent finds.

One thing I'll say about Download it I'm usually clash for the most part as only about a 1/4 of the lineup interests me. Sunday does nothing for me but then I usually have a day like that

Saturday night is my main disappointment. I'll watch Wednesday 13 but after that I could happily head.  I'll watch Rob Zombie for a while tho.  What really pisses me off about Sunday is the no choice but either watch Aerosmith or go.  I'm not a fan and the bollocks about being last ever gig in UK was a blatant lie.  There really should be an alternative.

Not even dead yet and I'm managing to do that. I'm genuinely speechless at anyone turning up to Simple Plan over anything. What an awful band whose last album was absolute gutter even by their standards. And people say Biffy don't belong a Download

Haha, I can assure you that it's a handful....just about but maybe not quite from tbe earlier stuff they'll play that interests me....nothing of the new stuff.

I'd agree if they hadn't made a point of booking a whole stage similarly dedicated to those style of acts.

As a headliner they don't, but Simple Plan aren't being discussed as anything but a smaller stage closer. Don't hurt my ears with TSSF thankyou! Haha

Just booked a Saturday ticket for Biffy. First time going to Download and I've seen that parking is extortionate and there's no access for day trippers to the camp site (different to Reading). 

Any recommendations on time to arrive in the area for to park up and get in? Any kind of late night entertainment outside of the campsite? Just trying to plan whether I can have a few drinks or not.

The arena is totally seperate to the campsite (10minute ish walk) so different to Reading, but I'd say get there as early as possible, the arena usually opens at around 10/11ish so maybe get there for 9ish if you plan on spending the whole day there (unless you aren't fussed on bands until later on obviously), as far as entertainment the only stuff I've seen is in 'The Village', which is part of the campsite & day tickets won't have access to that, sorry if that wasn't much help, this is only my 2nd time at DL.

I didn't find it that far? I was a bit of a mess each morning so it may have seemed not so bad but from the end of the village to the arena I'm sure it wasn't much longer.  I'll time it this year haha, watch it be like 30 minutes or something now!

It is quicker now the track is open to use although they made everyone divert the other year. Thing is though, if you aren't arriving Wed so your camp is in the furthest field or even end of white then that is a trek...add in the mud they never try do anything about.

Yeah this will be me this year haha, stayed just at the beginning of white last year so wasn't too bad, but something's come up last minute so we won't be arriving until tomorrow/Friday depending on the situation.  Last year was my first DL and it literally could not have gone smoother considering the weather, this year may come down hard on me, everything has gone tits up the last few months leading up to it!
