Beyoncé didn't headline T that year either so I don't really think there's a case for them playing lower there ergo lower at Glasto.

I think in the current festival climate where Stereophonics and Fall Out Boy are headlining major festivals in the UK then The Strokes won't be vacating their position at the top unless they really wanted to do Glasto, which I doubt as much.

They should really be making the descent down bills because of their declining relevance and stuff, and I think they could carve out a better career being a big act with a cult following than one-album hasbeens in the grander view, but such is the current climate in the music industry that new bands aren't quite doing it for yer average ticketholder. Plus they've also still got a shadow of hype hanging over them and that's why there are still so many people who even now would forego all clashes to see them despite never having liked them or whatever - so that seems to work in their favour.

Beyoncé was drafted in at TITP as a late replacement for Blink 182 mind you, I think she'd definitely have headlined in normal circumstances

Unfortunately not as I couldn't make the dates... doing NOS Alive as an alternative though. You heading back?

NOS Alive line up is incredible. Not this year, just couldn't afford it, having it a week later jacked the price up by £100+ for me. 

I believe Julian said something along the lines of him not feeling anything playing the strokes songs anymore. And I think its been mentioned plenty of times that various gigs have been done based on the dollar

Haven't seen them mentioned elsewhere so sorry if repeating but looks like Vintage Trouble are unlikely this year. Would be three on the bounce, if you count their aborted set in 2014 but they were on quite a few predictions I've seen here. They're in the country but only free Sunday and if they played it would be 9 days on the bounce so would seem to be a day off for them.

They also playef Avalon in 2013, bizarrely up against tge Stones, so would be 4 on the bounce. 

Still, very hard working band so I wouldn't put it past them doing 9 days in a row.

Just noticed Minor Victories (Slowdive, Editors, Mogwai 'supergroup') are touring in America during Glastonbury, so all those acts are seemingly ruled out. Was really hoping for Slowdive as I have only just discovered them and am already addicted.

Strange considering Editors have dates in Europe at the same time though... unless one of the bands is playing with a replacement guitarist.

I noticed that Maximo Park are active this summer so checked out their dates and it looks like we can rule them out:
