I enjoyed that slot although was lucky to see them due to the change. Went to have bite to eat in the park and listen to the American guy on before them. sat down and had a bite then thought ello this sounds familiar so grabbed food and legged up the slope. Added bonus with that was that had time to go and see Motorhead after Edited March 9, 2016 by cornish hick
Supernintendo Chalmers
The whole "lack of female headliners" thing, I'm not sure I get it. Do people really think there is a male-bias? I'm pretty sure that Glastonbury would have booked a female as a headliner if they were popular enough, cheap enough and just as importantly, available at that particular time. Which other female acts/artists could have headlined over the years that meets that criteria? That aside (there's probably a thread for that subject), I think Adele would/will be a triumph. Not my thing, and I'll be elsewhere but I fully expect to get home on the Monday after and read how well received the show was.

We've booked some really interesting African women as well as some great British women who are doing very well at the moment. Obviously I can't really tell you names because it's all a bit secret… Bands like Savages are great. Grimes. And obviously Wolf Alice are doing really well, that's brilliant to see. Laura Mvula I love. There's one particular British woman that's doing quite well at the moment too, of course… Of course… We love Adele. She's an incredible artist and brilliantly honest and funny and real and that's what everybody loves about her. She's a great example because she doesn't put up any pretence. There's a certain pressure on women to perform in a certain way or be giving off this kind of image, while Adele is just honest and true and funny and just about as popular as you can get. She'd be a good headliner... She would, wouldn't she? It would be great to get her… http://i-d.vice.com/en_gb/article/emily-eavis-opens-up-about-the-lack-of-women-at-music-festivals Surprised none of you picked up on the obvious coded message. Going to be great seeing them there again.

defrio29
Interesting.... from last year: Quote Festival organiser Emily Eavis has commented on rumours that the group will top the bill at Worthy Farm in June. "I'd love to have Florence," Eavis told NME. "I love Florence and also it would be great to have her on the Pyramid Stage, she's never played there before." She added: "I think she could headline, definitely. I don't know what she's doing this summer but I think she's big enough, for sure." Florence Welch has said that she's "waiting for that phone call" about headlining Glastonbury 2015. Radiohead to headline, Adele to sub? Please... You may not understand this but most people in entertainment have trained somewhere before they made it, the Brit school provide tuition for kids whose parents are not that well off and it's an incredibly creative place. 2 hours ago, eFestivals said: hey, I've got three family members who have been thru it ... one of whom has been on a TV near you quite a lot in recent years, and also played at at-least one major festival! psb
* I think thom can sing but I'm sure plenty would disagree, to me his vocals almost act like another instrument rather than singing per se. * I detest Amy Winehouse with a passion I know she went there but beyond that I try to know as little about her as possible. I've no idea if more than one of them went there anyway, so why should they? But as far as I know, they tried to trade only off their music and nothing else. (I don't think they exist any more, cos acting commitments got in the way).
