Morning all. Am only slightly  hungover after last night's triumph in village quiz, which is optimal as the day will get better without me feeling too bad to start with.

After reading a surprisingly positive review in this month's Uncut I'm considering listening to the new 1975 album.

I doubt I'll like it either, but I was shocked to read something positive about it in a mag like Uncut that it has got my interest.

In the absence of a 2016 weather thread (too early for that yet) I do hope we get a repeat of the summer weather (though minus   a few degrees) that followed the last elnino grotty winter.

The summer in question was 2010.

I've learned from bitter experience to alternate water with wine at quizzes or I get obnoxiously pissed and hyper. And then nobody wants to play with me anymore.

So what plans have people got today?

I have not had this urge yet

When they get announced i will try to listen to them  but im not expecting a lot

I did like one song for about 5 mins but they arent one of my must see bands im afraid

I remember 2010 as a rather grumpy festival, with people too hot and exhausted to look after each other. And the dust! I reckon a bit of rain at the start and a little bit of mud (literally) brings people closer together.

I can imagine it got grumpy - hence the wish for  a few degrees down on the heat - though as you rightly say a bit of rain is good, a light shower to keep the dust down and get an under shelter huddle going is a good thing.
