WeatherPro now showing sunshine and showers for Fri, Sat and Sunday, but if you check locations within 30 miles of Glasto there are none. This is why forecasting is an imprecise art, they can't possibly localise the forecast with any accuracy.

Metcheck seems to be predicting much less rain on Wednesday/Thursday now to me?

Doesn't seem too bad a forecast at the moment. ~8mm across the weekend by my count, anybody know how that stacks up with previous years?

We're not out of the woods yet.  It's scheduled to go on for hours.  This is probably just the amuse bouche of a full 7 course tasting menu.

It's what's outside the visible reporting area in the South West that still worries me too.....

Monday morning is scheduled to give the site another rain-fuelled battering

The shape of it has changed in the last 12 hours, forming a wide band rather than the big lump, spreading the precipitation over a wider area than expected.  Rain could easily be over by the time the moon is up and very little to follow so combine some decent sunshine with the wind and things could look much better than they have over the last 2-5 days.

Indeed, the intensity seems to be dropping off the further east it gets, seems as if Cornwall and Devon have been very kind and taken the heavier stuff by the looks of things!

The level of detail of data we have had this year has been second to none.  The updates in picture, video and testimony from the site, the variety of imaging on what's actually in the sky and the rate of update for that, fantastic stuff.  I love technology.

I do wonder, with the quantity of top-drawer video coming off site in the run up being greater than ever before whether the detractors of taking smart phones to festivals still feel the same way.  Technology is augmenting our experience and I am all for it.

I went to Split in Crostia from tuesday-friday and checked the bbc for weather on Monday night. Thunderstorms tuesday and wednesday with a lot of rain on thursday was predicted.

There was no rain whatsoever and people came back looking like they had leprosy their sunburn was that bad. I refuse to believe the bbc ever again

It's quite amazing really the amount of info we have on here now, technology is really coming into it's own.The thing is we have all this info but at the end of the day the weather will just do it's thing regardless! At least we can plan ahead a bit better and know whether we need wellies, canoes, small submersible etc

@Spindles Personally, I am a big fan of the info we have coming from site pre-festival, it helps ramp up the excitement and with this weather help to plan what to expect upon arrival.

However, when the festival is in full swing, I have no time for anything except an old Nokia to meet up with friends etc. I find not having a smart phone helps to immerse myself fully in the festival by disconnecting from the outside world for the duration. I will however, as always add to the end of a post such as this, each to their own!

Yeah, as everyone has said, locally you can't predict a thing, but you can see the big picture and you can see how it is unfolding against the predictions, so at least we know whether it's walking boots or wellies, trollies or sledges.
