Weather 2016

Staring at my newly-downloaded Met Office weather app has turned into my new obsession. How I'm going to get any work done over the next two days I have no idea.

As a geographer, I LOVE all of this detail and minute-by-minute weather talk. 

It doesn't affect what I take with me, though. Just makes me slightly more apprehensive about whether my bastard ankle will stay the course.

Decided to look at some of the more popular weather sites ... and then aggregate the predictions for each day. Here are the results (done at Sunday 19th June 4pm).

Wed- Cloud (possibly light rain)

Thur- Cloud

Fri- Sunny

Sat- Sunny (possible light rain)

Sun- Sunny

That webcam is dangerously addictive.

My rule when on site is that if you can see the tor then it's not too bad. At the moment the tor is invisible on the webcam. Bugger.

I do wonder, with the quantity of top-drawer video coming off site in the run up being greater than ever before whether the detractors of taking smart phones to festivals still feel the same way.  Technology is augmenting our experience and I am all for it.

Aye. Slightly off topic... on the video front, I've actually bought an external mic and sock for by Galaxy S7 edge as i want to catch some decent video around the theatre stages and other area's. Won't be using it for main stage gig's though, that would annoy everyone lol

yr.no update is out and it's a slight downgrade. Some degree of rain every day up to and including Wednesday.

On the flip side, they are predicting great weather from Thursday onward. As long as that part of the forecasts comes to fruition, I'd happily take mud underfoot for four dry, sunny days.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic today. The sun looks set to be shining over the course of the actual festival, so despite the mud, the vitamin D will raise the spirits. And failing that, there's always alcohol. I CANNOT WAIT!

It has worsened but they are predicting the rain will stop a bit earlier than expected.

I've doubly waterproofed my jacket and tarp hat today, then cleaned up my wellies and bought new welly socks. I am entirely prepared for anything so trying to stop giving a fuck. It's Glastonbury, I will be drunk, I will eat great food and be entertained 24/7 of the highest order. It will be fucking excellent and that's it. Amen.
