This is my thinking, it was dry but not especially hot like a heatwave.  I remember Phoenix 94 being insanely hot and dry, 2010 was a cakewalk in comparison

Just remember being caked in dust from sweating when pogoing!

Some of it was recorded for TV and the footage of Therapy in the evening sun looked like a prairie buffalo stampede

I have had a season ticket for Oldham Athletic since I was 5 if you have ever been to Boundary Park you'll know it never gets warm.

I have learned to deal with Cold, Wet, Sleet, Snow, Cold, Gales, Rain, Drizzle and disappointment.

It starts getting tropical in Manchester. It's Factor 50 anywhere south of Macclesfield.

Living three quarts of the way up Lydgate hill I can concur!

92 was a roaster, too hot to sleep in the tent so slept outside all weekend including in one of the hedges one afternoon!

93 was nearly as bad, we had a Saffer and an Aussie camping next to us begging for sunblock!

The only times I've bothered with having a shower at a festival, although 93 may have also been cos I wanted to be as clean as the young lady I ended up sharing my tent with!

I got lost in Saddleworth today. Went to Albion farm for some breakfast. Driving back I decided to do a right thinking it would take me to Royton. It took me right into the hills and ultimately into Saddleworth. Have to say it is bloody lovely up there. Once you get out of the city, there really are some beautiful areas.

Managed to find my way to Milnrow, then back through Shaw and Royton to Broadway, then unfortunately back to reality.

What a rollacoaster this is going to be.

Yr.no now has Wednesday as sunny all the way (yesterday it was rain all the way) but has rain down for Thursday!

The BBC as shown above shows two good days but watching the weather for the week ahead they said we will get low pressures rolling in next week as the high drops down to the Bay of Biscay. I expect them to use the word uncertain quite a lot.

I still have a good feeling that it will be no too bad by no means settled but still good. I like this feeling and am sticking with it.

Lots of spread in the ensembles this morning from the GFS. Chances of a heatwave limited (based on this one set).

Some agreement on a period of rain coming through tuesday/wednesday. After that it's a mix of settled runs with fine weather and cooler more showery conditions. There's nothing to indicate a horror show, so at the moment I'm inclined to think there will be some rain during the festival but generally nothing horrific.

I'll take it.  I've sat here enough times with the sun splitting the sky for the previous fortnight, only for it to go tits up the second the gates open.

I agree, last year was settled for ages before then it all broke down but ended up OK.

Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability at turning the topic back to Manchester, where it rightly belongs.

 You have lost me mate. The words beautiful and lovely should have made you realise that no one could possibly be talking about Manchester.

Now George Galloway, what a c**t he is.

Yeah.  The picture is improving day by day, this spell before the festival will keep overall temps down even if it is wall to wall sunshine, so that will keep the good people of Manchester happy.

although that latest forecast for Pilton looks great, iPhone weather is the least accurate.

I was in Bristol the other weekend where thunderstorms were forecast for the afternoon as late as 10am, only for it to be a sweltering day with no rain at all :/

Generally I find that the Met office & BBC's longer range forecasts are always more conservative and err towards poor weather, then improve as time gets closer.  It's certainly been the case this spring with several periods of rain predicted that gradually got less and less severe until they didn't occur at all.

Hopefully the wet weather this week won't make the ground conditions too heavy going during set up. It looks like it might brighten up nicely for the festival! We need Big Dog to send back reports of underfoot conditions!! I'm predicting the going will be "good"!
