Cooter
Most years I get a tad panicky prefest but strangely this year I have faith that it'll all be okish. Maybe a bit of drizzle and a day of flipfloppable mud but that'll be it.

Deaf Nobby Burton
I just googled "Glastonbury Weather" Up pop several headlines suggesting that Glastonbury is set to be a "washout" All the articles are based on the the Met office and BBC reports that suggest the weather for Glastonbury will be a mix of sunshine and light showers.. so pretty much like last year. Its amazing how spiteful the media are, they just want it to be a disaster for everybody going.

Yes this does seem to happen every year, & I really can't fathom why the popular media actively seem to take pleasure from predicting a terrible time for us who really enjoy an undeniably fantastic festival, which is open to all. It's not like it's an elite crowd who are permitted to buy tickets (OK, I accept that the cost of entry is a barrier to many who would like to go), but anybody with £230 can try equally for tickets. Is it something like they're really like to go but daren't do it for some reason, so they have to convince themselves it's going to be a terrible experience and that they're not really missing out? They don't - they just want a story out of it, and like it or not, the general British public love a good story about people getting piss wet through and having a shitty time. I read somewhere that sales figures for the Daily Express go up by as much as 30% when there is a negative weather related headline. We f***ing love it! pedmills
Here's what the websites are saying compared to previous years: The forecasts for 2014 (which ended up relatively wet) and 2013 & 2015 (which ended up relatively dry) didn't diverge until just less than a week before the festival. So let's see where we are in the next day or two. At the moment it doesn't look brilliant but neither did 2015 at this stage and it ended up fine. Yep, we've gone from wall to wall 28 degree sunshine, to 17 degree cloud and sporadic rain, all in the space of 48 hours. My reasoned side is shouting 'just wait for countryfile' with increasing volume.

Am I reading this right... the forecasts are currently suggesting roughly the same amount of rain that they were forecasting at this point last year? if so great, and thanks for the graphs, we've missed them! Sunday it dried up a little but trying to get up the hill to the Park late Friday night was comical. Probably looked like a terrible Takeshis Castle contestant the way I was struggling. The land coped splendidly with seemingly quite a lot of rain. I noticed significantly more ditches and drainage rocks than in 2010, the last time I was there. Some of the markets near Other/JP/Silver Hayes didn't hold up too well, but so long as the rainfall comes in bursts we should be fine. 2014 had a big motherfucking thunderstorm, so a lot of rain fell, but it wasn't raining for all that long It's the horrendous constant soaking (2007,1998) that I fear. SirDaniel
Yep, that freshened my memory, cheers! I was watching Chvrches at JP during the Friday storm and there was a waterfall forming on the edge of the tent, pretty exciting/terrifying to see. I've only been going since 2010 and the only year where the weather has really gotten me down is 2011. Coming out of the Dance Village on the Wednesday evening through the shin high mud was absolutely miserable and I could tell one of my Glastonbury-virgin friends was already regretting parting with £200. Definitely the low point of my festival-going career. As long as we can avoid a repeat of that, I'll be very happy!
