Into next week the pressure dropping a little but not to the extent of this week. So my current guess would be fairly decent weather for the festival period, some rain at times but nothing hugely damaging at least not for too long. However temps do look a bit on the cool side' After reading that I'm getting a 2008 kind of scenario

Thunderstruck
Looking promising this morning from the 3 models, Possibility of more unsettled conditions for the early part of the festival (wed-thu), but even this is not set in stone. After that definitely a trend for high pressure to settle things down over the fri-sun period. Pretty much my thoughts are the same as yesterday, some rain is possible, particularly earlier in the festival but overall we should be ok. geoffboycott
A lot of very heavy, thundery showers yesterday, a lot of surface water, but ground isn't too bad under foot - I'm about 10 miles South of Pilton, not sure if they experienced the same as the showers seemed to be pocketed. There's been quite a bit of rain since the w'end however. Family member who has access to aero based forecasts, suggests the rest of the week is unsettled, but improving next week. Let's hope that's true!

I was watching Chvrches at JP during the Friday storm and there was a waterfall forming on the edge of the tent, pretty exciting/terrifying to see. I've only been going since 2010 and the only year where the weather has really gotten me down is 2011. Coming out of the Dance Village on the Wednesday evening through the shin high mud was absolutely miserable and I could tell one of my Glastonbury-virgin friends was already regretting parting with £200. Definitely the low point of my festival-going career. As long as we can avoid a repeat of that, I'll be very happy! 2010 was my first year too and during the first couple of days of 2011, I swore I wouldn't go again... Didn't last! Junglist1981
I like to think of this as the 'getting the rain out of the way' period. If this week was glorious wall to wall sunshine then we'd be doomed.

I am a bit of BBC Weather disciple and the 'Glastonbury' forecast for next week continues only to look more settled. Bottom line is that it really doesn't look as if we are heading for anything like the rain that we're currently seeing in the Midlands, so it should be fab. On my way home from work yesterday, and to work today, the lashing down was at levels that would produce a 2007, I reckon! Get it all out of the way now, and this time next week we'll be T minus 12 minutes for the Gates! Ben
fur_q
0z gfs showing a slight improvement on yesterday's forcast LP to dominate early next week towards the end of the week the south should start to see a gradual improvement. Wet and chilly Wednesday, warmer towards the weekend but showers still persisting thought.
waterfalls212434
showers we can deal with...they can even be refreshingly welcome when its hot and muggy outside .long torrential downpours is what we want to avoid for the sake of the ground with 1000`s of people churning it up turning into a mudbath v quickly. here at the moment its shitting it down and the forecast is like that for the next couple of days....so I also want to think of this as a `get the rain out of the way` week before a glorious sunshine and dry ground filled glasto week! jparx
We've had just about a week or torrential rain here in Nottingham. Surely this is the price I'm paying for a gorgeous, sunny and dry festival?
natgds
Current aviation forecast says more showers today with a low chance of heavy thunderstorms. In terms of long term, I don't trust anything other than my aviation app and they only give us predictions around 12-18 hours in advance. You just can't accurately predict the weather a week before. I'm still being realistic, but haven't lost all hope yet!

nban2010
How it's currently looking like, no the models and forecasts, is that a fair bit of rain is a certainty now, but it might actually hit at times when impact is low. At the moment, rain is due to hit Weds very early morning (until midday), Weds/Thurs overnight and then Thurs/Fri overnight until 10am. So rain yes, mudpit, maybe not, and with it looking to warm up Sat/Sun, may actually be quite pleasant....

Looking at the GFS high res I actually think Wednesday look showery with spells of sunshine - maxes around 19c, which will feel warm. Thursday max 21c warm spells of sunshine and showers but mainly dry. Friday max 23c warm spells of sunshine small chance of showers but mainly dry
