4AssedMonkey
So, in an article which essentially states, showers/sun/breezy, they get 3 reference to flooding in in 8 paragraphs. Journalists are c**ts.

I can carry more stuff around if it's cold enough to wear a coat. I've never been bothered by the cold at Glastonbury other than 2007 and 1998 when it was also chucking it down all weekend. At least if its warm as well it wouldnt be as bad. But warm and dry is better. I hate being cold.

Oddly I remember many many years ago it be bloody freezing on a couple of nights. Proper wearing several layers and hat in the tent at night in a sleeping bag with blanket on top

Squonk
Lots of rain on site today, hoping for some sun soon to start drying things out or it could get a bit messy
Mr Splodge
Pilton today has been very wet. was over the site today lots of surface water and mud on the roads, grass where not driven on holding up well but very squelchy underfoot with water. Naughty corner very muddy and wet, sadly they need to use big plant machinery to build I am sure chippings will be put down prior to arrival. On a positive note weekend weather looking good, and so is next week so should be a lot drier when everyone arrives, basically everyone pray for dry and wind up to Tuesday. FloorFiller
thankfully Glastonbury seem far more prepared to deal with the wet weather than most other festivals i've experienced so even if it does turn a bit muddy i'm sure they'll do their best to sort it out before people arrive on site. just really hope it isn't raining on arrival - never had that happen to me at a festival and it's always been a huge fear of mine (i believe it was a big problem in 2011, which i fortunately/unfortunately didn't attend)

Put on some layers and keep moving around/drinking. Easier than if it's wet and muddy.

waterfalls212434
not so much the rain or the cold, for me its the ground, and being able to sit down without having to carry a stupid camping chair around/getting a soaking wet arse......one of the best parts of the festival for me is at various points on the Wednesday and Thursday just sat on one of the hills behind the park and chill out with some cans taking it all in....if I cant do that because the ground is soaking wet thatd take some of the shine off my usual ritual. dingbat2
The 10 day BBC forecast for Shepton Mallet looks absolutely perfect at the moment - glad Glasto isn't this week at the moment All we need now is the Oracle that is this weekend's Countryfile forecast for the week ahead. All hale to John Craven!
Deaf Nobby Burton
To summarise, what I'm reading at the moment is: Potential bad weather at the start of the week but clearing up a bit for Wednesday, with the odd shower here and there and then moving into the weekend the things could potentially improve a bit with more chance of sun. I think we should take that and close the thread.

Only went as far as Monday, but looking ahead the screen looked pretty clear for the weather coming in from the west on the air flows.
