Oxfam Campaigning

So i'm campaigning at Glastonbury for the first time this year and I'm looking for a bit more info.

Does anyone know where exactly the camp ground is? What hours the shifts run, I know they're during the day but when they start and finish and whatnot? Hows the free food? How are the shift? How hard do they work you? Most of all does anyone have any stories, I'm excited for my first charity based Glasto and if anyone has any tips or info that'd be great.

Chars all!

The Oxfam camp is about 5 or 10 mins walk from gate B next to windinglake farm

The free food is fantastic, NUTS catering are back again this year

as for how hard you have to work , if your worried about abit of hard work

maybe volunteering for Oxfam is not for you , it's not a "free ride"

That said everyone seems to have a good time while working for Oxfam

that person who asked the question also posted this

' I'm writing an article about an attempt to get over the fence this year at Glasto and I was wondering if any of you had any advice? Spots to attack, number of guards, etc. '

Andy - I always worry why a Volunteer signs up and then ask questions where it would make more sense to ask questions before they sign up.

will you be back at VG4 this year ? - thanks very much for last year - its much appreciated .

quite a hostile forum this. i did indeed ask about a break in, and my post was locked before i could clarify that i already had plans to volunteer and was confident i would be able to get a place with my background. I still plan the break in for the sake of an article, to write an entertaining article without stealing the festival.

I have also researched the role plenty but most of the online info is about stewarding and Oxfam only give you so much info.

Thanks for the info Dead Amos, youre a star. I'm very much looking forward to working hard for Oxfam! And Glasto Worker, you clearly have a hell of a chip on your shoulder, i hope whoever hurt you gets their comeuppance.

This is not a hostile forum, you have based that on one persons reply, we are a friendly helpful bunch!  Hope you have a  great time, but please forget about jumping the fence :)

well I was only going on what you write as after all your first post made no mention about being a volunteer.

I can be sceptical all I want as I have 25 years experience of dealing with Genuine Volunteers and when you clock up as many years as that then perhaps people will listen to you.

Post again once you clock up 27 years of being a festival volunteer.
