Private Bus Dropoff Point

Okay so a slightly obscure question and this year discussion.

I was a first timer last year with a few friends who had been before. We got dropped off at the private coach area where we were told we would get a shuttle bus into the site. After about 4 hours of waiting we finally got on a shuttle bus to the site.

Now, I was wondering if anyone knew where exactly the drop off point (where we boarded the shuttles) was on Google Maps? My curiosity is winding me up no end and I want to know exactly how far we really were from the festival in the first place.

Also, did anyone else experience the travesty of coaches sitting around with no staff to help us get on and only loading two coaches at a time (not to mention squeezing us through that tiny gate ugh)?

Thanks!

The website has information that you may be looking for:

www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/getting-here/by-coach/

I hope this helps. You might be able to narrow it down a bit easier. It looks like it's next to a farm called Steanbow Farm which does come up on Google Maps.

Edit: that does say it's a new private coach park so apologies if it's different from last year. The only shuttle service I know of runs from Castle Cary train station and can have very long queues.

Forget last year as this year ' its a different drop off point ' this year { called Private Hire Coach Park }

wind back a few years -  most coaches used the same ' Bus and Coach station ' then some bright spark had a idea to split them up hence why you ended up miles away so adding more hassle for many.

Clearly that has been reviewed and when the new map comes out you will be able to see that its now close to Steanbow Farm and within easy reach of Gate A.

When I first started going there was no Coach station they used to unload onto the open road - they ended up walking down the road as there was no pavements then although at that time there was nothing stopping a person driving in a Coach and camping beside it.

Cant recall when the first started using a Coach station but looking at old maps it may have been 1990 but it was tiny compared to the current Bus and Coach station.

I can understand GFL problem as they don't have room to expand the current station so the 2016 plan does look a better compromise.
