The other Bellboy
Morning all. I have to leave the West field late on Sunday night / very early Monday morning to catch a flight. I will be arriving early afternoon on the Tuesday so expect that i could be parked quite close to the festival entrance gate. I have always stayed in the East fields before so have no idea about slopes / ground conditions in the West. If (god forbid) its wet this year i cant afford to have difficulties getting the van off site on the Sunday, are there any slopes on the West field, should i try and park the van further away from the pedestrian gate and nearer to the roads to make sure? Bonedaddy
Hi, you generally have to park where you're directed to. But if you tell them that you need to leave Sunday they'll hopefully park you next to the main 'run' or with good access onto one. West is (was) only two fields worth of vans, it does have a slope (so worth taking levelling blocks if you have them). We've always done this and been lucky on being right next to the main drive / pathway. Which has the added advantage of a more sociable time sat by your van! Enjoy! tvrobbie
I've done west the last few years and never had a problem leaving late on Sunday. In fact I can't even remember having to queue to get offsite. The stewards leave plenty of space between all vehicles (due to fire risk) so unless you have a huge Winnebago, you should be fine. Even when it's rained, the west fields stay in pretty good shape without any mud problems.
