Caravan Hire

Good afternoon. I work for FMS and would like to rent/ borrow a caravan for this years festival. My wife has a slipped disc at the moment so needs a comfy lie down this year. Can anybody help please. Thank you.

If you search in either the chat or questions forum in here you'll see a few company names.  I suspect you'll find that they've been booked up for a while (sometimes they start getting booked up way back after the first deposits are paid), but you may be lucky and find a cancellation.

Alternatively you can do a google for some, I think it depends if you're looking for one already on site or are happy to bring it.  If it's the latter you can probably find a firm nearer to where you live that would have some available and without an inflated cost.

Buying might be cheaper than hiring ? Just a thought....

You can buy a pretty decent second hand van for around £4,000 or even less.  If you work for FMS you probably do a fair few festivals so you'd probably make the money back quite quickly against the cost of renting.

Where would you put it though, you cant put it in toms field. Tricky.

Thank you all. We have our own field past gate b so will have it there. May well look into buying a cheap one and flogging it after as we have no where to store it at home now.

With the shortage of Campervan tickets you may find people changing their plans after the resale and willing to lend/rent you a van....assuming you don't need a CV ticket either that is.

I may be out of kilter and someone will correct me, but when I've hired them in the past I really had to go and seek out firms which did it (from posts on here or web searches) and then phone them up. 

I've never seen or heard of anyone who rents them out reading the posts on here.

I work for FMS too. I know someone who will have a caravan for hire at Glasto this year. It's a vintage caravan suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. Let me know if you want me to put you in contact with him?

I think your best bet is to find an individual who rents their motorhome/caravan out for some extra pocket money. All the big firms hike up their prices big time for Glastonbury.

We managed to find a really nice couple near where we live who are renting us their huge 6 birth motorhome for £720. All the big firms were looking for £1,300 upwards!

Ours was on the owners own site (they've only got one - sorry!) but we found a few potentials here:
