Airport Travel

Hi,

I am flying in from Dublin on Thursday after work and flight is due to land in Bristol just before 9pm.

My two questions are...is it best for me to go straight to site from airport or stay with a friend in Bristol City and arrive on site Friday morning. I know I am already late and don't want to miss too much more than I already am!

We have booked a Camplight tent so pitching won't be an issue.

Second question is if I go straight from airport then what's my best travel options? ?

Thanks in advance!

Thursday evening, from the Airport direct to the site:

There's no public buses, so your main option is a Taxi - there probably will be a fair few fellow attendees on the same plane, and/or arriving on other planes around the same time so have a word with the people who seem likely - you'll probably be hanging round the departure gate at Dublin Airport for ages anyway - maybe they've booked a private bus that you can hop on, or they'll be happy to split a taxi with you - either way it saves you all money so I have to assume you'll find people happy to share the journey.

Friday morning, from central Bristol to the site:

There's a handful of National Express coaches running to the site - though not many as everyone has already turned up. They cost £20, leave every couple hours and take about 75 minutes. Alternatively get a train to Castle Cary and then a shuttle bus to the site - cost will be less, but overall time will be longer. If you do go with National Express, I strongly recommend booking it least a couple of weeks ahead.

Personally I'd say go straight to the site, even if you get on site at 10ish there's still fun to be had on the Thursday evening and a taxi split between a few people will probably be cheaper than taking a bus to Bristol and then another one to the site the following day.
