never had to show my ticket, but they ask for y our car park ticket, or make you buy one when you get to the car park.

Only get asked for your ticket at the main entrance when you have struggled for an h our with all yoru gear and are sweating like a pig

Last year we had not put our car park ticket in the windscreen but were waved off the main road with all the other traffic and parked in Pink 57 I think without anyone looking to see if we had a ticket - we then put the ticket in the windscreen realising we had forgotten to.

Years ago when car parks opened on the Wednesday morning we were asked to show tickets a few times as we arrived and left main roads, however not been asked to show tickets until at entrance /wristband area recently. Probably a good idea to purchase a car parking ticket for your car though so you just get waved through rather than having to stop to buy when when you enter site.

FYI GFL operate "Sin Bins" at regular entry points for those people in the wrong place with missing tickets, passes, etc.

You queue at a portacabin, explain what you're missing and then do / go exacly what and where they say.

Every scenario is thought of and catered for.

I once read about a scam where people who looked official were asking for tickets in/near the car parks. They'd take the ticket and not give it back, leaving unsuspecting punters thinking that was their entry in to the festival.

As a result I also read that you shouldn't be asked for your ticket in the car park, only at the wristband bit.

Could be all a load of crap but thought I'd share :P

Those stories are true, but the photo tickets have largely stopped it. People would put a hi-vis jacket on in the middle of a field, ask to see tickets, then say they needed to take them 'to the office to check something', and leave people sitting and waiting with no tickets. They'd then sell the tickets to people without tickets trying to find a way in.

You can still be asked to show your tickets on the way in to the car parks, but legitimate crew should never ask you to hand them over. If anyone does, tell them you'd be happy to drive along behind them to their office to sort out any uncertainty, but do not hand your tickets over. When they either scarper or wave you through to avoid the issue, see if you can find a proper steward or security guard and let them deal with it.

Phew just checking, I think one of the first time I've been we had to show festival ticket too but I didn't remember having to show it for the last 4/5 years or so!  Now I just need a car park ticket and I'm sorted!

Just a thought, if you've got coach package tickets, I don't think you can buy car park tickets. You may need to find someone who has standard tickets who would be willing to get one for you. Otherwise your husband would need to get one on the gate, but I suspect that increases the chances of him being asked to show his festival ticket, which he may not have yet.

yeh that's what I'm worried about, I've emailed see.  My husband can't get the coach because they don't have two seats for our kids and won't let them sit on our laps :(

The other option is he gets a lift from a non festival going friend, there's apparently an unofficial taxi rank / lay-by on the West side of the site near Steanbow Farm.  Maybe he could get dropped there and walk to gate A with our toddler.

Have you been in touch with the ticketing people to see if they have any suggestion?

yes they aren't being very helpful.  They just replied actually saying you can't get into the car parks without a festival ticket, just incase that helps anyone else!  You also can not add a car park ticket if you have booked coach - my sister was gonna drop the kids to the car park!

Keep calling SeeTickets after 6 May as there may be some cancellations on the coach you are booked on. Good luck!

This is a good suggestion actually. Last year they didn't add any coach tickets to the secret resale and presumably just added the tickets from the coach packages into the general sale. Just cross your fingers that someone on your coach cancels!
