Water taps on site

I know its not something likely to stick in anyone mind but can anyone remember what sort of fittings are on the fresh water taps around the campsites?

Reason being im thinking of taking a short length of hose to attach which I can have a quick shower with at some point!

Thanks

The people in the queue behind you are gonna love that  you're better off getting to a camping shop and getting one of those black outdoor solar shower things and doing it by your van/awning etc

If they have a problem I will squirt them!

But seriously, I have considered a solar shower. Its one of my options at the moment. Just thought the old tap/hose combo might be quicker and easier.

Nah you will certainly piss people off doing that mate. Fill a tank up & move on, no one wants to queue for ages for water :)

Yeh that's fair enough actually.

I camped in tangerine fields last year and there was never a queue at the tap. I'm inside the festival this year I'm guessing quite a queue builds at the taps then?

Hi, I'd echo balti-pie in that you'd get grief off other people, even if they're not queueing behind you (they already do it for those who wash their willies). The area round the tap gets waterlogged anyway and this wouldn't help.  My mate takes a solar shower, and that works a treat.  Or take a £1 large bucket and move off to use that in the hedges?

If you want a shower use the Greenpeace ones, you will have to wait but I think they have a ticketing system so you no longer have to queue.

If you try attaching a shower hose to one of the water taps and doing it there, don't be surprised if you get more than just angry comments!

Everyone here is being very polite. People who take up the taps to have a shower or wash their hair while others are queueing to get a drink are selfish pricks, frankly.

No-one will mind if you're at the taps filling a solar shower or a bucket. People WILL mind (and will tell you that you're being selfish) if you have a shower/wash your hair/shave your legs (yes, I have actually seen this) at the tap.

Plus, the water from the tap is absolutely FREEZING. All the more reason to take the water away, let it sit and warm up for a bit before you wash with it!

Id just like to add that I have never done this and if I were to (Before this thread set me straight), then I would not have allowed a queue to form behind me. Id have only used the tap for washing if there was nobody waiting.

But I agree, if someone was preventing people from getting water so they can have a shower, then yes that's pretty selfish.

Even if you go to the tap at 3am there's likely to be someone waiting! So yeah, not something anyone should do. If you want a shower, have a shower in Greenpeace.

I've just bought a 10 litre flat packed

water carrier for £1 from Poundland.  Plan to fill it up in the evening when taps are

quieter and leave in tent over night - then fingers crossed in the morning it will have warmed up slightly !

I wasn't aware the taps were in such high demand to be fair, now I know my idea isn't the best Il be going down the solar shower or Greenpeace route!

Thanks to everyone for the helpful replies!

Henceforth if I see anyone washing at the taps whilst I'm waiting to fill my solar shower I shall scowl at them!

Have to agree with everyone above. You will not be popular if you shower at the tap! Not only because it holds up the queue but it also causes the biggest bog ever.

It's worth noting that the taps are quite quiet in the evenings so if you're planning to fill up a bucket or solar shower then that is the time to go. Tents heat up really quickly in the morning so the water should be warm enough by the morning to shower with.
