Anyone know how to land a job working as a bin painter?

I realise it's too late for this years festival to do this, but just wondering if anyone knows how you would go about applying to be one of the bin painters in the lead up to the festival? or do you have to be selected?

I have a feeling there's a long waiting list/reserve list

Shangri-La were looking for artists last year. I think you had to submit an example of your work or something. I don't think they repeated their appeal this year but it could be another avenue to explore.
