Travel advice - Bristol Temple Meads

Hi I'm going to my first Glastonbury this year and have a few questions regarding travel to & from Bristol.

1. Will there be any shuttle buses running from Bristol Temple Meads on Monday 20th as I'm due on site working with festaff?

2. Leaving Monday 27th I have a train booked leaving Bristol Temple Meads at 11am which I must catch as I have a connecting train from Birmingham to Newcastle.

Looking at the options it seems either national express 8am coach or a shuttle bus to Temple Meads.

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

1. As far as I'm aware - the only shuttle bus that goes direct from Bristol TM to the site on the Monday before the Festival is the one that Oxfam put on for their crew. This only runs I think once or twice during the day (can't remember the exact times) and as it runs direct to the Oxfam field they almost certainly won't let you use it - so I wouldn't bother trying.

However, while it's not advertised on the Festival web site, the free shuttle bus service from Castle Cary train station to the Coach Station at Gate A does run approximately once an hour on the Saturday to Tuesday before the Festival - so you can get a train from TM to Castle Cary and a bus the rest of the way. Last year the times on the Monday were first bus 9am, last bus 10:30pm.

2. National Express will take you to Bristol Bus Station, about 30 minutes walk away from Temple Meads - so get the Festival Shuttle (service GF3) direct to TM - and make sure you're on the bus fairly early - 8am at the latest as traffic on the roads away from the site can really build up after that. Better to be 90 minutes early for the train than 1 minute late..
