eFestivals fantasy football league 2016-2017 anyone?

The one from last year has rolled over to this year if you were already in that. If not I assume that's the one all newcomers need to join but I think only the league creator can see the PIN to join (I'm looking and can't see it anywhere).

Pogba finally done then. Exciting times. No way LVG would've been able to sign these players.

Hmmm, only at the end of his time when confidence had been lost in him.

LVG was given the freedom to make several of the biggest signings in English footie history, and Moaniho is getting the same - just that the goalposts have moved in the meantime (including Spanish clubs no longer throwing silly money around).

Pogba's a decent player, no doubts, tho it'll be interesting to see if he matches the hype. The Euros seemed to suggest its easy to look good in Italian footie.

Possibly but dunno if the Euros prove a lot. He was great for Juve though.

Stones gone to City. 47.5m. 2nd most expensive defender ever.

Also whats going on at Everton? Hibbert found out he was being released on the official website? After 25 years at the club?

Swansea need a superb next 3 weeks else they're as good as down for me.

Everton (and Barnsley) have done well out of that Stones deal, especially if they get Williams.

Am hoping G&S get a quality striker signed ASAP, and if I'm being greedy, maybe a right back too.

Will be interesting to see how Pogba does, and a lot of that will come down to Rooney.

Rooney's obviously nailed on at number 10 for now, and Pogba in a double pivot behind won'the be that effective.

Bin Rooney off and play him in a midfield 3 alongside Schneiderlin and Carrick with freedom to roam and he'll be great with a front 3 of Martial, Ibra, Mkhitaryan in front of him.

Hope Mou sticks with Rooney as I'd love to see United spunk a load more money and fail once again (not that I think they will; top 2 in the league I should expect).

Stones has got to be nailed on at that price and with Pep's predisposition for ball-playing CBs. Hoping so for Fantasy football purposes :P Will be weird seeing him go from being a rotation risk at Everton to a nailed on starter at City, if so.

I'm pleased if we get Ashley Williams, rumours the rest of the Stones money is going on Bolasie and Kone (with Jagielka possibly going to Sunderland as part of the deal for the latter)

Koeman definitely has a "type" of player. Seems to be changing the team from possession based passing one to a more physical pressing game. He's been quite critical of the squad since arriving.

I have liked what I've seen of Kone, good signing that would be.

Bolasie? Not for the money quoted, far better value out there for me.

Agreed not enough goals or assists, I'd personally of been happy with Mirallas or Deulofeu on the left but Koeman sees them both on the right side with Lennon so I guess we have to trust him (or Steve Walsh)

City
Chelsea
Arsenal
Man U

Watford
Swansea
Hull

No real idea at the top though, Spurs still look a really well-balanced talented team, Liverpool have bought well but not really added enough serious quality to break into the top 5 IMO. Leicester could still do very well, depends on how they balance priorities, injuries, and whether players fire again. Every team that should challenge for the title has serious problems, and - Arsenal/Spurs aside - new managers that might take a bit of time to get ideas across.

Two of you have gone for this...

But isn't it (I'm not sure) the case that at least two of the promoted have always gone down again?

(If it's not 'always', then it's certainly most of the time. )

I don't think that's right. There have been years where none and all have gone down. I'm almost certain (although can't locate stats) that one promoted team relegated is the most common.

I'm talking Prem era only, btw (and really, I guess that should be since it's been 20 teams).

I don't think it's ever been the case that all promoted teams have stayed up.
