Personally I'm a big fan of the pundit that goes so far the other way from intellegent analysis that he's utterly incoherent quotes are in some way magically informative.

"When they don’t score they hardly ever win."

"It’s hit the facial part of his head."

"Alderweireld played really well last year for Tottenham, let's hope he can transfer that form to Spurs this season."

"To stay in the game, you have to stay in the game."

"That shot is impossible. I saw Yaya Toure do it once."

"Whichever teams scores more goals usually wins."

Michael Owen is on a completely different level to all those around him.

I've got a real soft spot for the Soccer Saturday, especially Merson who's some sort of punditry idiot savant, I think it's because they know it's all a bit of a laugh they can get away with some of the daft stuff they come out with.

Too laddy for my tastes, but I can see the appeal and I did used to watch a few years ago. I just can't get in to watching men watching screens and screaming off-camera. Stelling is a good anchorman though.

For me Saturday afternoon really is the territory of 5live though (it sounds like I must work for them or something). I vividly remember the FA Cup a few years ago when Middlesbrough knocked out Man City and Bradford knocked out Chelsea as some of the best live broadcasting you're likely to hear on the wireless. Fantastic radio, and a great alternative to subscription TV, which almost all football seems to be on now. Their boxing, Olympic and golf (not to everyone's tastes though, I'm sure) coverage is also fantastic.

However, 8% of fans said they would stop watching their team

I reckon it'll go much like the black players thing did - where plenty said they'd stop watching but few did.

And anyway, at the top levels for every fan that might stop watching, there's another to buy the ticket. In many ways it won't matter.

Quite like hearing Howard Webbs view on Bt. Think they work the refs view bit better than when other channels have tried it.

I reckon Charlie Nicholas must have some compromising pics of the sky boss. Great player but struggles to string a sentence together. Not sure if Neil McCann still does the Scottish football on sky. He might be worse.

As for 5live, it's a mixture but getting worse. Now that Mike Ingham has retired we get even more of the self important smug twat that is Alan Green.

I think ingham was about as perfect as you could get as a commentator.  Green is the complete opposite, I have no clue why they persist with him.

I think Souness gets unfair stick as an ex manager.

He destroyed the team Sir Bobby built and replaced a team of vibrant young attacking players with the likes of Geremi and Bowyer (not sure whether Owen and Luque were his signings or Shepherd's). I will never forgive him for driving the likes of Jenas, Viana, Robert, Bellamy out of Newcastle.

I wasn't suggesting he was an unmitigated success as a manager - he wouldn't be working at Sky if he was - merely that he did had some degree of success at some of the clubs that he managed and therefore didn't deserve to be lumped in with the likes of Neville and Shearer who have never had any success.

Frankly, those 8% can fuck off.

I suspect they won't anyway (just like the racists never fucked off) - but it's great to see so may people taking this attitude towards them.

I don't think they'll be much fuss if/when some players come out. I suspect they'll be more fuss made about it actually finally happening than anything about the players themselves.

I'm not sure the problem would be in the grounds themselves, eventually the 8% would get over it even if there were.

Was staggered the other week by the online reaction to the Premier League supporting the Stonewall campaign with the Rainbow laces, mainly from fans abroad. Shows there could be issues with the Prem's 'global image' if one of the players was from the top flight. However, I say fuck em. Anything that can be done to increase people's awareness, tolerance and acceptance, I say go for it :)

Surely the Brum owners have made an ill informed decision by sacking Rowett?

Absolute madness for me. Brum haven't been brilliant for a while and Rowett had them moving upwards, bit of investment and he's challenging for sure.
