We are on the same page. My point is just that on top of festival's desire/need to have strong medium names given the strong sales, there's also an economic factor as well. As the festivals have certain capacity and prices are going up at moderate rate (compared to artist costs) the pool of money available for undercards is shrinking because headliners are taking much bigger share vs. in the past.
Actually Manchester is pretty good with buses now...well it is round my way...with Burnham's lovely yellow Bee thingies bussing around. The metrolink is good imo, just needs more lines to go more places. Yes gets busy around commute times, but most of other times you can get a seat...and soon will be able to do same contactless journey thing with both buses and metrolink similar to London. Obviously London underground is amazing etc, but it is always busy in the centre, either with commuters or mostly with f**king tourists going to the f**king theatre.
Well I don't use it for commuting...I use it for fun, and oh what fun...as I look out at the beautiful city in the beautiful weather and thank the lord I'm not in a smelly subway trying not to look at the person opposite.
I shared actual facts which showed a significant disparity in popularity. Your argument however appeared to be based on Hinds being a more interesting band. Which I agree with but nowhere does that drive lineup placement.
And I absolutely agree that there is sexism more generally but that is an entirely different argument. Your criticism was of this festival specifically.
ps oh and by the way the head booker for Wilderness is, er, a woman.
