well i was 11 then and so was more concerned with the break up of the Spice Girls than Radiohead's new career defining album

OK that's acceptable.

The 11 part, not the Spice Girls part. Well maybe both.

Bloody kids...

Despite having seen both played at the Roundhouse gig, I'd be entirely happy to hear them again on the Pyramid. Bodysnatchers was a brilliant, rocking encore opener and, despite an argument for its overexposure, No Surprises remains, for me, one of their finest ever moments. That final glissando through "...such a pretty house and such a pretty garden..." is spine tingling. It's right up there for me with the heavy bass and chords in Exit Music when everything ramps up with "You can laugh, a spineless laugh...", that pair of moments being a microcosm of how good OKC is.

:)

That bit in Exit Music is one of my favourite ever moments in music. Never fails to give me chills. Even just reading your description of it gets a psychical reaction.

Totally agree. That moment, and the climax of Nude were the best moments of their set at NOS. I wasn't even the biggest fan of those songs before the show (I liked them, just wouldn't put them in my top 10), but they easily stood out the most.

They even blew away Reckoner, which was some going.

Child 3, my musical prodigy and a pianist among other skills, and I, sing along to the climax of Exit Music together frequently at home! Belting out those last lines "....choke you, NOW, we are one, in everlasting peace..."

Ugh!

Wow.  Saturday nights are a blast chez Benny.

What do you do for an encore, Gloomy Sunday? ;)

My Radiohead Glastonbury 2017 setlist

1 // Airbag

2 // Let Down

3 // Burn the Witch

4 // Present Tense

5 // Weird Fishes/Arpeggi

6 // Lucky

7 // Talk Show Host

8 // There There (The Boney King of Nowhere)

9 // the National Anthem

10 // Ful Stop

11 // Nude

12 // Identikit

13 // Dollars & Cents

14 // Climbing up the Walls

15 // No Surprises

16 // Reckoner

17 // Paranoid Android

18 // Street Spirit (Fade Out)

Encore 1

19 // Exit Music (For A Film)

20 // Pyramid Song

21 // Idioteque

22 // Everything In Its Right Place

Encore 2

23 // Fake Plastic Trees

24 // Karma Police

25 // Creep

Obvious wishful thinking on the most part with the set length and some of the songs,  missing out some songs I'd have liked in there in How To Disappear Completely, Optimistic, Life in a Glasshouse, Bodysnatchers, Staircase, Codex etc but they've got so many excellent songs it's so hard to do.  After seeing some of the recent setlists though my biggest hope for them is that they don't open entirely with the first 4 or 5 songs from A Moon Shaped Pool. I don't think that would go down well with the neutral and maybe the atmosphere of watching them.

I couldn't honestly ever wish that Radiohead would play Karma Police or especially Creep, whilst leaving out HTDC. Just plain wrong on every conceivable level.

And Talk Show Host has been played on both of Radiohead's previous headline gigs, so if they need to play a b side something else should be given a chance!

I do like that you go with Dollars & Cents and Climbing Up The Walls though.

I'm thinking more of general crowd viewing on the Pyramid over Radiohead. They'd obviously go down better in such circumstances.

Oh yes those songs would go down very well indeed, but If we go down that route they wouldn't play anything from AMSP or Amnesiac at all.

Talking of which I Might Be Wrong deserves it's chance on the Pyramid.

Every headliner normally has 1 encore , radiohead have always done 2

Talking of which, who has seen a festival non-headliner get a genuine encore?

Doesn't count if they're the virtual headliner, but have chosen not to play last!

I can only think of one - tUnE-yArDs, early evening at Green Man in 2012. They (she) was so good, and so well received, that crowd chanting resulted in an unplanned/anticipated encore!

:)

This is a set they could potentially play in a 2 hour set, which I feel they should probably get.

1. Pyramid Song

2. The National Anthem

3. Burn the Witch

4. There There

5. Daydreaming

6. Ful Stop

7. 2+2=5

8. The Gloaming

9. No Surprises

10. Lotus Flower

11. Identikit

12. Weird Fishes

13. The Numbers

14. Reckoner

15. Everything in its Right Place

16. Idioteque

17. Bodysnatchers

18. Paranoid Android

19. Nude

20. Street Spirit (Fade Out)

21. Bloom

22. Present Tense

23. Karma Police

Thought starting with Pyramid Song would be brilliant

Really? Jeez old age must be catching up with me as my memory of that is obviously wrong (either that or I am always two sails to the wind)

Not just you!  I'm sure Florence didn't do an encore last year. Didn't watch end of any Pyramid headliners' sets this year, but don't remember encores at West Holts either.
