Really? That was one of the two or three I was hoping would come across well :/

Oh well. I'm not complaining. Their setlist will be incredible and (shocking new album aside), I'm looking forward to this as much as any gig ever :D

It's missing the strings and it's glaringly obvious they need to sort it out. It was just flat live and lacks the urgency and verve which makes it such a great album opener.

Anyone else get their Spotify review of the year email today?

Apparently I'm in the top 1% of Radiohead fans, surely that means I should get some kind of trophy? I'm thinking a golden bust of a man stroking his beard. On a plinth. That sheds real tears when you play Radiohead.

I'd imagine a lot of us are in that 1%.

I've just looked at mine and I'm in the top 1% for Nick Cave, Beck, James Blake, Radiohead and PJ Harvey.

Aye I don't think you have to listen to them that much to qualify. Don't get me wrong, I have a 50 track Radiohead playlist that I listen to relatively regularly. But I tend to not listen to them for a while then spend a week beasting it.

Quite surprised that I made that cut too, with Arctic Monkeys, Foals, LCD and Nathaniel Rateliff too. Do I get a strokey beardy gold man too? The total minutes looks like a scary number, almost 32,000 in a year and over 3k unique tracks. Reinforces to me that it's the best fiver a month I spend.

I was wondering if anyone has any questions that you want me to ask him?

i see you

Was it good? How did rank the albums then?

Saw a mate of mine tonight who's a massive RH fan. We've both got tickets for next year. He brought Radiohead/Glasto up in conversation, and I couldn't actually bring myself to talk about it as I instantly remembered how long away it is. I know you shouldn't wish your life away. It will come around, but its taking over my whole thought processes! It is doing my nut in. I've banned myself from listening to any RH for a while, cos I lose my mind when I envisage them playing certain tracks at the Pyramid. Me and another mate had a 2+ hour drunken Whatsapp chat about what the setlist could be, what the 'definites' will be, and how surely they're gonna pull out all the stops and play an absolute storming setlist. They will won't they? Its as if I need reassurance. I've had horrible dreams that they've sang 'Nude' and he's done it really half-heartedly and not given a shit and it's sounded shocking! I haven't seen them since 2012, and I was pretty annoyed by setlist (still OK, but a massive anticlimax), so it's as if I've got unfinished business with them! I listened to a few tracks from Nos (I think) last night, worrying that his voice is getting shit. It didn't disappoint and  actually put my mind at rest. They're gonna pull it out the bag and it's going to be ridiculous.

Fuck sake. 6 months? All the best.

I'm sorry that was a very drunken passage of words where I've not really vetted it or thought about what I was saying. Anticipation has a habit to set you up, you see.

Terrar..terrar.

Forgot to put the "T" on the end of 'thought'. Actually pretty disgusted with myself. There's no excuse

All that and he doesn't even like their new album, where presumably around 20% of the setlist will come from...

Mate Daphne & Celeste could come on stage with an accordion each and join them for their new tracks for all I care. If I hear 10 or so of my favourite ever RH tunes it's still going to be mindblowing for me.

So a couple of my mates who will be with me next June are "not sure" about seeing RH, largely because they don't know their music. They asked me to suggest five songs they should listen to.

I'm thinking:

1. Just

2. Nude

3. 2+2=5

4. Fake Plastic Trees

5. The Numbers

(6. Bonus track: Spectre)

Please improve my list!

Hard to pick 5 that cover everything but I think Reckoner, Everything In It's Right Place, Just, There There and No Surprises are a solid 5 that manage that.
