Radiohead Headlining 2017

I'm cool with a full show of OKC, but then I've just seen them the once and they only played three from OKC - Karma Police, No Surprises and Airbag. It's going to be special either way, really.

Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Fake Plastic Trees
Idioteque
Everything In Its Right Place
Pyramid Song
Myxomatosis
Nude
Weird Fishes / Arpeggi
Reckoner
Lotus Flower
Daydreaming
Ful Stop

I'm also of the mindset that they are not going to play the album in full. If there is any intentional correlation between the release date and the festival, then it is purely to harness the publicity associated with the television coverage. Mind you I think OK Computer will get a strong showing, but so will all of the albums that they have released in the time since their last Pyramid headline slot (including the one they released last year).

They'd be mad to play OK Computer through in full in a Glastonbury headline slot. Whilst a certain amount of diehard fans would love it they'd lose the majority of the crowd for sure.

I'm a big fan, although nowhere near as bigger a fan as most of you, and I'd be pissed off.

Kid A in full though... that I could get behind :)

Just now, Time Being said:

They made more money off of the name your price format.

I'm aware of that but there's quite a lot to show that their not as money grabbing as some people are making out. I'm sure there are other reasons that they'd do it in full than just to sell a reissue (that will still ship loads of copies before the even play the festival).

I think if it was announced the same day they were playing then it could be seen as an advert for the reissue but I'm sure the fact they're doing their first proper UK festival slot in years at the festival they headlined just after it came out is a much bigger reason. It's gonna be seen as a proper nostalgic gig for them for multiple reasons.

That being said, I still dont think they will play it in full :D

I thought the idea of playing the thing in full was a ridiculous idea but I'm coming around to it now.  If it's not then I'm assuming it'll at the very least be an 'oknotok' show of sorts.

Releasing it one week earlier would still have harnessed the publicity of the headline slot.  Why would you release a re-issue 20 years and 1 week after the original release?

OK, let's make the assumption that we get none of the additional tracks but that they deposit the OKC album in full after a five-song intro of others. Then we get a first encore of five more, followed by the closing two.

1. Daydreaming
2. Desert Island Disk
3. Ful Stop
4. Bloom
5. 15 Step
6. Airbag
7. Paranoid Android
8. Subteranean Homesick Alien
9. Exit Music (For a Film)
10. Let Down
11. Karma Police
12. Fitter Happier
13. Electioneering
14. Climbing Up the Walls
15. No Surprises
16. Lucky
17. The Tourist

18. Bodysnatchers
19. Reckoner
20. There There
21. Fake Plastic Trees
22. Idioteque

23. You and Whose Army?
24. Pyramid Song

Whilst I understand the huge appeal of OKC for many - and it will likely be a sure-fire way to swing in a few fencesitters - it's a bit of a cop out to a degree for the other songs (though as I have said of numerous occasions, I just really want FPT, which after the US leg, I'm optimistic for.)

And this is a set that is missing Weird Fishes, I Might Be Wrong, Burn the Witch. Identikit, Nude, The Numbers, All I Need, Street Spirit and Creep.
Tough sell.

Has everyone forgotten that we're talking about Radiohead here? There's no way in the world they will play the album in full.

I think there is more chance of them not playing anything from the album.

In fact that would be pretty funny.

Fuck. Me. Sideways. Recorded versions of Man of War, Lift and I Promise. I wonder if they're versions from the actual OKC sessions or...? There was that footage of them trying to record Man of War on the tour film and giving up.

If they play OKC in full...  I may as well just apologise now for ejaculating on whoever the unlucky sod is standing in front of me in the crowd.

Hilariously cynical stuff from this crowd of utter frauds.

Lock in the Glasto headline date, guarantee a 4m viewership on the Beeb and then release a pointlessly remastered album that everyone already owns "containing 3 songs that were too shit to make the album initially" while bed wetters everywhere clamber over each other like fleeing penguins with fistfuls of cash.

They must laugh in private at how they get away with it all.

How would they lose the majority of the crowd? That album has most of their biggest hits. The set would start incredibly strong, peak with Karma Police and have a solid ending. Most casual fans will be there wanting to hear Android, Exit Music, Karma Police and No Surprises anyway, which they would get spread out across the set.

I think the most likely scenario is the same set structure as last year but with OKC songs in the AMSP slots. Something like 8 OKC tracks and 3 AMSP ones, with the remaining 13 songs from the other records (3 from Rainbows, 2 from HTTT, 2 from Amnesiac, 3 from Kid A, 2/3 from the Bends +/- Creep).
