That setlist is about the perfect mix, a fair few old school classics, plenty new tracks, a nice mix up including most of their albums, well paced so its not kicking of with a load of songs where half the ceowd just stand in silence not knowing them but keeping the big tracka for the encore. Pretty much perfect.

I originally wanted True Love Waits, it's easily the best song on the new album, but thinking about it, it's actually too heartbreaking for a festival. I don't want to be thinking about something like that at Glastonbury, and I'm sure Thom doesn't either.

Sometimes I feel slightly overwhelmed by the weight of my anticipation for this gig. It's all I've been thinking about recently.

Ditto. The idea of seeing Radiohead at Glastonbury is pretty much the holy grail for me. Listened to the bootlegs of 97 and 03 soooo many times now.

I'd been building up the idea of seeing Radiohead headlining Glastonbury for many, many years. But now it's about to actually happen, I've had to let go a bit. The way I was going, anything short of a truly transcendental out of body experience was going to be a let down.

So now I'm looking forward to seeing the xx and Radiohead will be a nice little bonus on top. Obviously that's not really how I feel about it, but it's the only way I've found that won't end in crushing disappointment. A coping mechanism to avoid an anticlimax.

Exactly, exactly, this.

I'm kind of in this position but with the added problem that the xx don't do very much for me at all. So I'm not looking forward to seeing the xx (with the rather desperate hope that I will actually enjoy them) and not looking forward to Radiohead not being as good as they can be, given where they're playing. But hopefully they will be.

You guys do nothing to dispel the stereotypes about Radiohead fans being miserable, pessimistic bastards...

I get it though.  I had a sudden proper realisation that this is really happening and I had to shut myself down quicksticks and get back to obsessing over the festival as a whole.  It doesn't do to anticipate something too much.

Though, even as a massive Radiohead fan who would ideally like to be right in the body o' the kirk at the front just once, I'm still not planning to see The XX.

Yeah, fuck watching The XX. There'll be better things to see and do elsewhere, and it'll be easy enough to get a good spot. Also at my age I can't pretend to myself that I won't want a wee/a pint/some food between acts so no point getting down there early.

The XX were fantastic at their own shows. Agree Coachella wasn't good at all and they might well not be suited to a daytime Pyramid sub slot but they were superb on Other in 2013.

I'm still massively excited about Radiohead at Glastonbury. It's the Glastonbury part of the equation that excites me more - plenty of times seeing Radiohead and I don't suppose this will be their greatest performance out of the lot.

But it's the whole thing - every day at Glasto it feels there's a certain atmosphere surrounding the Pyramid headliner that day (even if you're not going to see them), you see loads of people wearing the T shirts of that band, you hear people talking about them queuing up for food, afterwards their performance is usually something which people talk to randoms they meet around the various night spots. And of course for the vast majority of bands headlining this is a huge landmark gig for them, they treat it with a certain reverence and you can see it etched in their faces on stage. And it's tremendously exciting that this year this will be about my favourite band.

Even if Radiohead turn in a middling performance (by their standards, will still be excellent either way) I don't see how any of that stuff will change. So I'm happy to be massively excited.

Unless Thom breaks his leg or something over the next month...

I thought I wanted to see them til I saw the Coachella stream.  Nope, nope and no.  If all else fails, that'll be dinner time.

I'm the opposite, I wasn't sure if I'd see them - but the Coachella stream made me realise I MUST see them.  (Tho no need to rush there for the first 3 songs).

Edit: wait - are you taking about the XX?   Sorry I should read the whole page before replying.

Yeah the XX are rubbish.
