a £250 ticket and £110 bus from Glasgow does look grim on papers, i find it even harder to contemplate ever getting to the stage where i think Glastonbury is too expensive to the extent i don't try for a ticket

I think if I was thinking no I wouldn't even try. I would just get up and see they were sold out and think, okay i didn't try as decided not to go. Stay off efests for the whole time mind you so you don't see who is there. The only thing that twisted my arm this year was I might as well before they have a gap. And provided this year ends with The Roses singalong to I AM the Resurrection then I can't think of a better way to go out.

Show me another campsite that charges anywhere near £60 pppn. (the anywhere near is to factor in the entertainment before you bring that up).

I would say show me another 5 day event like it that has no restrictions on alcohol entry. I get what you are saying but comparing it to other campsites is a bit silly. I camped in Cornwall this August for cheap but you have to be quiet by a certain time to think of others.

I used to think £20 to park somewhere for a few days, bargain - but now I can compare it to parking for the same period in some town centres - and with it getting toward £50 I'm thinking fine, but no longer a bargain.  And ticket price, used to be bugger all difference to Reading and way more for your money - still way more for your money but a gap is quickly opening up between the two in terms of price.

This is more so the price for the ground that the festivals fault I would presume. I agree that £50 is tipping it for car parking but if the prices for land keep going up then so do ours.

Can't remember exactly, but something along the lines of

Adele:

"I remember when I was 9, it was my first glastonbury, i was standing there (pointing at a section at the Pyramid field), I watched Radiohead - it changed my life, that was the moment I knew when i wanted to do this"

Coldplay:

"We played Glastonbury at the New bands tent - now called the John peel tent, maybe some of you been over there this weekend, to see the next Adeles, the next Radioheads"

Maybe Emily then :P I just dont think it was a coincidencce

i bet it was a coincedence

TBC!!! It's happening, people

i believe it is. :)

It's come at me from a different direction today, who's tips always come in.

There's always a first time they won't, i guess, but there's no reason at all to think it might be with this.  Fingers crossed, cos i'm determined to not have another coldplay-like cock-up.

last year's SR broke my heart - so I'm still holding my excitement until they officially announced it

Dude, TBC is a whole other level ;) I've got the streamers out, confetti everywhere, popped the champagne and cutting in to the cake as we speak. It's happening.

that's the word I've had.

I've very good reason to think that word is accurate, but i only know with certainty if/when Glasto announce it.

oh yes! I hope and pray this forum attracts all hardcore radiohead cranks, like the glory years of the bruce springsteen and U2 types.

We could be in for a sensational few months.

I was personally just about convinced they were playing at one time, but never had info to confirm what i though so they didn't ever make TBC.

Me going to TBC is me being as sure as I can be, outside of Emily/Michael/Etc telling me something to my face.

Interesting that they get the big Saturday night slot. I think with this tour and album they are a bigger deal than they were post, TKOL, but that's still a lot of exposure for a band that will play a set mostly comprised of songs only hardcore fans will know. It'll be fascinating to see what size crowd they get/what the TV audience is like.
