Sorry if I was a bit harsh Mr Q! A bit pissed up last night.

Although I stand by my general sentiment. :-)

Ha, I did note the time of posting Scruff!  I was impressed by your use of the word 'minutiae' at 2 in the morning though! ;)

I had noticed your rapier like wit had become somewhat more bludgeon like!

Here's a confession, many years ago I also thought TBC and SR were the other way round. I've no idea what my thought process was. Maybe it's because TBC is often used when things are particularly tenuous and a Strong Rumour is, well - strong.

I'm pretty sure I didn't last over a year regularly posting on this form with the misconception intact though!

Thing is I've never really got involved in the rumour discussions until now, so I've never really had to give it much thought before!  But this is how we learn :)

Sorry to break it to you, but you're in your mid twenties now. Those kids aren't your peers anymore :)

In fairness I was chatting with some 19/20 year old students with tickets at work the other day, and they looked at me with blank expressions when I said I was hoping for Radiohead to headline :P

at the roundhouse gig i was surprised at how many people in their late teens/early 20's were there, singing along to every word of no surprises. an incredibly diverse crowd.

I entered my 20s just before the Roundhouse gig and No Surprises was a fantastic moment, but didn't come close to my astonishment / joy of hearing Kid A and Myxomatosis. The run of songs of No Surprises, Glass Eyes, Pyramid Song, The National Anthem, The Numbers, Identikit, Myxomatosis, Idioteque and Street Spirit was wonderful.

I was there too. Cant believe we got Kid A. Highlight of the gig for me.

So what's the thinking in terms of tour dates/venues?

I could see them them doing a few arenas in February/March before heading over to the States for a month or two (including Coachella) and then returning to Europe for the summer festival circuit.

An arena date in March would tide me over nicely until the Pyramid.

Fingers crossed. The US run from April til early June (anticipating they'll do Bonnaroo too) is more or less definite so I'm hoping we get in on it before that and they don't indulge Asia-Pacific or South America before us. :P

Agreed on arenas. I was thinking earlier about the impact of the Glasto TBC on me going to this tour but I think I could only skip it if there's only a bunch of nights at the O2 or something. That's too harsh though, can't see that.

I won't skip the arenas, one of those things I love most about this band is that you can see them three nights in a row and see three different sets. If they do multiple nights I'll only do one though.

Ive been checking out the recent setlists to try and get a feel for what tunes I need to check out before June and wondered what the chances of the Berlin 11th Sept being repetaed? looked spot on for a first 3 album type of fan like me.

What do we think they'll close on? Hoping for Street Spirit myself

I think they'll either stick with Karma Police or play Street Spirit last, although I dream of an encore of

Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Creep
Karma Police
Exit Music (For A Film)

I think you're best off just listening to all of them and then the next day just do it again and keep going like that.

I still think they will only do a very limited tour. Two London shows, Manchester and Glasgow. Something along those lines. I'd love them to hit Nottingham arena but I just don't see it happening.

Yeah if it's all packed into February and March or something then I'm not sure their route around Europe would be too extensive. Hope they're the latest act to play Leeds Arena - getting some big acts there since it opened so hopefully the guys wanna see what all the fuss is about.

So far we know...

Jonny is doing a show in London at end of Jan.

Phil is doing something in Minneapolis in late Feb.

Theyre almost certainly doing Coachella in mid April.

Theyre doing Glasto in late June (obviously).

So European tour will likely either be in March before Coachella or it will be in May/June before Glasto. Hoping for the latter personally.

When they've toured properly before they've done quite a lot of shows in a short space of time and some consecutive nights, so even a month on the road around Europe could easily lead to 15 shows.

Leeds would suit me. Not a bad journey for Nottingham and it's a great city to visit!

I'm having similar thoughts to dentalplan about the tour now. I've never seen them before so was planning to travel down to see them in somewhere like Manchester if there's no Scottish date but I might just give it a miss now and save the money for something else. If they play Glasgow I'll go regardless but still not convinced they will.

Just read that the Gov Ball promoters said Radiohead will be stateside early spring so you're probably right and if Phil's over there in Feb it should be around then until some point after Coachella. Hopefully then Europe in May and not next autumn.

I'm torn because finishing on Karma Police would be an iconic moment to end on, but Street Spirit has closed all their Glastonbury sets and it'd be a shame to break that pattern.

Ultimately I think Karma Police would be the best choice. Not really a fan of a Street Spirit as a closer, generally speaking. 'For a minute there' will be ringing around the farm in to the wee hours if they finish on it.

If they're to play Glasgow I reckon it's more likely to be part of the Bellahouston Park 'Summer Sessions' gigs at the end of August.

They'd easily sell it out, get a decent under card and DF would make a pretty penny.

Not so sure.  Last time around when they played Glasgow Green tickets were ten a penny.  I got one for, like, a tenner.

Just getting lovely shivers thinking about my 15 year-old Child 3 and me singing that line at the top of our voices as part of the ecstatic Roundhouse crowd in May. Would be really quite incredible on the Pyramid...

It would be an amazing send off for the festival going in to the fallow year!

This would be unreal. I don't know why EM(FAF) gets a bit of a mixed press amongst RH fans. Complaints that it's 'dull' until the build up. It's one of my all time favourite Radiohead songs (songs in general?), both lyrically and musically. To be there as silence falls on the Pyramid field with TY croaking 'that you choke, that you ch-o-o-o-oke'...I might just have a bit of a moment.
