@dizzymoo very little color left in New England. I went in the 'quiet period', the quiet period is when the people who like pretty colors leave and before the winter sports people come along for the snow. It did mean everywhere was nice and quiet and the roads were quiet. A lot of places were only half open though. But it is a wonderful part of the states, usually wouldn't be  on my list but Mr Sheffieldlady has been based over the since the end of Glastonbury. His local bar charged us $8 for our drinks tab - we drank way more than $8 worth. Apparently the bar just breaks even so the Knights of Columbus Rhode Island have a base so they use the bar as a front for their massive back room where they have there meets. I ain't complaining, the measures were insane, I had plenty of rum and cokes, shots etc for $8 for two people!

It has been rather Manchester here for the last 3 days!

Can we just go to Glastonbury now. I'm so tired of reading shitty right wing shit and need a break. I'm scared and my brain is exhausted.

Me too. This place is supposed to be my sanctuary, but there's two shitting topics on it in the forum. Can't kick up a fuss, because that would risk getting this thread booted.

Fuck shit, I need to unplug!

Shitwear = shit knitwear :) so yep, awful Xmas jumpers, that sort of thing!

I've got two Xmas jumpers, 'No Ho Ho' and a snowflake / motorhome mash up.

Outside, it's Not F*cking R#ining, so I don't need to compromise. Inside, it's chuffing freezing.

In other disappointing news, I find I missed Baloji last year at the festival. His 'Spoiler' is my earworm today.

Warm handshakes y'all.

Lights get turned on tonight in town, late night shopping (novelty over here and only happens before Christmas). Off to France tomorrow (if the boat goes in this wind) to stock up at the supermarkets and go to decathlon for a new tent .... tres exciting !

That's what I do now.  I went in for a bit, posted some measured stuff, got shouted down by Neil (again).  Pointless.

Anyway, happy smiles.  It's a very sunny day here!

You didn't bother to read anything previously, you posted, I gave a considered reply (even tho it was a repeat of what I'd already said that you hadn't bothered to read), and then you ran away.

It takes two to discuss, you failed.

Fair enough, I apologise.  I'm finding the politics all a but overwhelming at the moment, I need to step back from it all.

Hope you had a great birthday @Funkyfairy!,  and your optimism has been rewarded @trevethin.  Has Jr recovered from his projectile vomiting lurgy @mr gumby?  All for some peace and sanctuary here @stuartbert two hats,  as this week has an increasing air of BOHICA about it.  I've been taking youngest to the Outreach school every day for his GCSE mocks.  It's too far for me to go to see clients or come home while he's doing the exams, so I've had some enforced (and therapeutic) downtime when all I can do is wait in reception and read.  But the lack of communication between the Outreach and mainstream school has become farcical.  The instructions to spend only 1 hour on the English paper, and do  just 1 question, weren't included, so my son was writing like mad to complete 4 questions in 1hr 45 mins.   The science papers he was meant to do yesterday and today didn't arrive so those exams were moved to Monday next week,  and he's done maths papers instead, losing 15 minutes for one maths exam because the invigilator hadn't been told it was a longer exam than the science one originally scheduled.  The science papers still haven't arrived, Outreach school is closed tomorrow,  and I have no idea what we're doing on Monday.

I'm off to bake a chocolate cake for youngest's birthday tomorrow.  And may well eat the lot ^_^
