Hi everyone, just a quick check in, as its all go around here! In the next week we have 2 birthdays, a birthday party, a nativity show plus end of term party, a cake to bake and decorate, a pile of presents to wrap, cards to write and send, a tree to build, decorations to put up and leaks to fix.

Hope everyone's doing well, will try to pop in again soon! :)

To the lakes on Friday for our new adventure.

A lovely place to move to @H.M.V.  I hope it all goes well.

Two Balvenies @Quark !!  We've not been to Balvenie; well to be more precise we've not been to any Speyside distilleries; there are just so many of them.  One day.

I have finished wrapping presents.  I didn't realise how much glitter was on the giftwrap I bought.  It's everywhere.  I am sparkling :D

@H.M.V understandable that you're stressed at the moment, moving is a pretty stressful thing. In a couple of weeks it'll be done with though :)

I'm getting that you didn't enjoy Placebo @fatyeti24

Nice to hear from you again @Yoghurt on a Stick, congrats on the house move and I'm sorry to hear you've been having a bit of a shit time at the moment!

I also enjoyed hearing about all your first cars, it helps me feel better about gaining some sort of emotional attachment to a metal object!

Hello sheffieldlady,

Thanks for your commiserations. Things are monumentally shit right now, but I'm still (just about) laughing in the face of adversity. Hope you are well. :)

So I've been putting my money away into savings without realising I have two savings accounts. I am torn between buying a new MacBook Pro with the touch bar, the old MacBook but new for considerably less & keeping some aside for Glastonbury & gigs, or spunking it on a few weeks in Indonesia. Any opinions would be great.

Maybe I'm a little biased, but I would say Indonesia any old day of the fucking week. Jakarta is almost as wonderfully bonkers as Bangkok, Bali and Lombok both have a mix of wonderful beaches, mountains and local culture (if you look for it). I'd also recommend trips to Kotok and the Gili islands for snorkelling. Admittedly, its nearly 20 years since I went, but it's in the top 3 trips of my life.

Works Christmas do tonight. Lots of gin (you'd all be proud). Fair amount of wine. Dancing. Saw a colleague's schlong due to kilt related shenanigans. Large balvenie to finish. Work tomorrow. Bring it.

How are you feeling now, Quark?!

Yog, good to see you and I hope things get better for you very soon xxx

Remarkably well m'dear!  Thought I'd be feeling a bit rough, but actually fine.  Coffee and a couple of cheese & mushroom toasties and I'm good to go :)

that's such a Stu answer!  Gigs?  Festivals?  Indonesia?

no, battery life! :P

I got as far as the first bit and immediately posted, like an overeager child in class who stuck their hand up before the teacher had finished asking the question.

It was only once the page reloaded, I realised that I'd ignored the possibility that one might not actually want to buy a new computer!

Last day at work before Christmas!  Only downside of finishing a week a before everyone else is drafting handover notes in case anything crops up.

But on the plus side I'm balancing that out with revisiting my albums of the year so I can put them in some kind of order :)

New York, New York moment there @Quark ;) You must be really pleased to be finishing today !

Last day of term today and school carol service this afternoon.  We've 8 years between our 2 kids so it seems like we've been going to these carol services forever, but this is the last one ever as she leaves school next summer ... Having 'where did all those years go' thoughts today.

Anyways. have good weekends all.  Catch you on the other side of the weekend !

You've convinced me. Any left over money will go towards Glastonbury & travelling later in the year (I've just found out the other manager is on honeymoon when I'd ideally like to go)

I'm going to get a friend at uni to by it for me so I can get a little discount.

Cheers all :-)

Don't listen to me, I didn't read beyond the bit about buying a computer!

But seriously, don't buy the new ones.

Weekend at last and time to recharge the batteries... at least it's only insomnia and not a major case of lurgy, splutters and snuffles... hope those of you suffering with ills and stresses get to enjoy the weekend too... planning on an afternoon nap already as well as a few / lots of lunchtime drinks before the Christmas madness really gets going
