It's nice to back Lucy :) hope you're mending nicely after your op, will you be off work for a while? I've been off since November and not likely to be back for another month or two, I think I'll take it bad when I need to go back, I like pottering about the house a bit too much I think :)

I've been back at work a week and a half! I'm not doing so well this week though and am off to the drs at lunchtime to get checked out. Hope you're ok? I do apologise but I can't remember why you're off! Pottering is good though, I do like a good potter.

I'd want to be paid a tax free amount to see Olly Murs. I really do like some songs by Leona Lewis (off X Factor) though, as she really does have a beautiful voice.

I love the stuff that I've heard from Lady GaGa. She seems incredibly talented to me.

I'm going to see Olly Murs in March!! I have no shame!

I've seen Lady GaGa, she supported Take That a few years ago. She is barking. Good, but barking.

You do know that you can get professional help for this sort of thing don't you? You just need to start by admitting to yourself that you have a problem.

She is barking, but in a genius kind of way.

I was spooked earlier when writing my last post to dizzymoo. I had a very strong sense of déjà vu coupled with a feeling that something bad happened after my first 'experience' of having lived that moment. It kind of rattled my cage at the time, but now I'm OK.

Seriously spooky when stuff like that happens - I was reading you post and then at the same time heard the works locomotion being sung - I should be shamed first though for listening to radio 2 in the mornings :-)

So just goes to show how social media works - after the announcement that jersey Live was no more yesterday someone set up a facebook page of GlastonJersey.

The local papers/news have reported it

The page created a logo (dodgy one) and announced a couple of headliners - and they've gained 1300 followers in 24 hours. Theres only 7500 people went to Jersey live so not a bad percentage

Quite obviously a hoax, but people were even congratulating the one of the guys that ran Jersey Live to say 'they knew he had something up his sleeve' - oh my goodness even if there was another festival taking over - seriously GlastonJersey !

Hi Lucy, Howd it go at the doctor? I'm not sure I said,  but in a nutshell I think I'm the luckiest woman in the world. I was diagnosed with a teenie breast cancer at the beginning of November following routine screening. I had the offending little monster removed and I'm just coming to the end of a course of radiotherapy. It's all been very straightforward and I'm very thankful for the great service I've had from the NHS. I'm on tamoxifen for the next 5 years which has catapulted me into the menopause but I was heading there anyhow. My work have been great, they haven't put any pressure on me at all, I saw my boss today and I'll see her again in a month -six weeks and hopefully by then we'll plan a phased return. It makes a huge difference work being supportive. No Glastonbury this year though, Davie can't get time off in June so we're going to do a couple of smaller festivals this year. I'm just going to enjoy the buzz from all of you over the next few months :) xxxx

I'm glad it was diagnosed when it was. It must have been a harrowing time for you. I was diagnosed with pre-cancerous growths in my intestines just in the nick of time before they turned cancerous. I was really really stupid and had ignored the signals for months and months. Finally they were found and I had to have half my intestines removed in the late May of that year. I guess I was even further stupid because I insisted on going to Glastonbury in the June, which was only weeks after my major operation (7.5 hours surgery in one sitting). I was kind of OK at the festival though, but really weakened. I think the latest I could stay up that year was 1am.

I've done it before, but I'd like to say once again (and commit it to the ether forever) that I am eternally grateful to the surgeon, anesthetist (who may have had his work cut out because I was snorting lines up until half an hour before the surgery - fuck knows what planet I was on to be doing that at that time) and the other surgery professionals for prolonging my life. We are so so lucky to have the NHS and the staff who work in it.

Hope that the Tamoxifen isn't knocking you around too much.

So glad to hear the treatment has worked for you. My sister in law has just been through the same, and got sent home today after her final reconstructive surgery. It really is amazing the work the NHS do. Sad that you won't be at glasto, though. If anyone deserves a bit of my gingerbread vodka, I reckon you do! :)

My mother-in-law starts her chemo on Monday, 6 sessions over 18 weeks, followed by radiotherapy, had a single mastectomy in December.

Next week would have been my late father in law's birthday (died suddenly last July); the mother-in-law has had a rough year.

Mrs Oneeye is stopping with her for the week for support; talk about an emotional roller coaster, though always positive, always half full, you've gotta be haven't you.

Marvellous to read all the uplifting stories on here, totally agree about the NHS, though I am biased, having a daughter as a nurse :)

Peace and love to all x

Wow yog that is major surgery! That must have taken some time to get over. I must admit I took some acid a few days after being diagnosed, it was great I got rid of a whole lot of shitty emotion and by the time I met with the surgeon I was in a good place in my head. I haven't had anything since though, I'm batty enough with the tamoxifen. Funny thing is I used to say I wouldn't be keen to take it but when I found myself in the position of having cancer I just wanted them to throw everything they had at it :):) We are so lucky with the NHS, it gets so much bad press at times and yet most people get a very good service.

Positive thinking is so important oneye, and taking the fear out of it all. Davie and I still put a recording of positive affirmations on every night to fall asleep to (they're on you tube "pinch me living"). We both found them really useful. Big hugs for your mother-in-law and mrs  oneeye, this must be so tough on her having lost her dad only a few months ago xxx

Thanks mr g, the reconstructive surgery is amazing nowadays,  my gran had a mastectomy about 40 years ago, (crikey im just counting and it was more like sixty years ago, it was before I was born and I'm 52!!!). She used to stuff her bra with old tights until my mum persuaded her to get a little silicone prosthesis. She was about 60 by then but it gave her a big confidence boost :) I wish your sister in law a speedy recovery and lots of happy days ahead, it's great to hear about folk doing well :)

@guypjfreak - i've tried rationing myself a the festival, it doesn't work. Maybe take a limited supply of cider?

Ah well there's a little problem with that... I take my mates just in case cases.. Basically cos I'm in a wagon I fill the whole floor with cases of cider and beer then I put all their tents on top of that... We had 15 tents last year.....  so that when the gates open I park up asap (I'm in spring ground) and then rush to meet the rest of the advance party who are also rushing to row mead to meet up with our advance advance party that work the festival and who have to stay up all night so we get our camp..... The others roll up from wed night onwards and it's all done for them. So if you see a lady in purple with loads of tents running to row mead that's my girl..

Then I take the cases up to camp every day as and when it's called for so in short I'm the bloody off-licence and a mobile go outdoors lol

Hope the feared bad thing didn't happen Yog!  I have that same sensation sometimes,  almost like a mental 'double vision', before things come back into focus.

Bloody love you lot. Nowhere else do you get tales of cancer treatment interspersed with lines and acid.

Father in law got clear scans following his leg amputation from bone cancer before Christmas, then had a session in the kitchen with him making a batch of cookies as they're the best painkiller he's found! Again, can't fault the care he's received.

Been for a curry with brother Quark as he's here for the weekend; he's passed out on the sofa while I relax with a rum (Applys @H.M.V;) )

Happy weekend my lovelies
